    Afternoon,

We have updated and clarified the forum rules for the benefit of all members.

You can find the amended forum rules below, they have also been added to the footer of the main site.

In addition we will shortly be announcing a number of new moderators for the site, these will be introduced in a separate thread shortly.

If you have any questions on the rules please post in this thread and we will answer them for you.

We will also stick a version within the affiliate lounge after this thread no longer becomes visible!

    Kind Regards,
    Matthew

    affiliates4u.com forum rules

    1. We do not tolerate racism, harassment, obscene language or generally abusive behaviour. Any instances of this will result in posts being deleted and infractions given.

    2. Affiliates4u.com is not the appropriate medium for personal or private vendettas. This forum should not be used to attempt to resolve personal problems with networks, merchants, agencies or fellow affiliates. Please email them directly to attempt to resolve in the first instance. Posts ignoring this rule will be deleted without notice and infractions may be given.

    3. Please be respectful to your fellow members. This is a friendly environment; we wish to keep it that way so please treat others as you would like to be treated.

    4. Any attempt to 'hijack' threads by posting off-topic will result in your post being removed. If you need to start a new thread then please do so, continuously breaking this important rule will result in infractions being given.

    5. Please make titles that you give to posts as descriptive as possible, this will ultimately mean that more people will read your posts. Do not duplicate threads in different forums. Duplicate posts will be deleted or merged.

    6. No posts are allowed in the Affiliate Lounge that are of a commercial nature. The lounge should be for debate and discussion not promotion.
6.1. We also do not allow affiliates links to be posted in any form without permission from existem.
    7. Please do not post anything which can be considered to be libellous or damaging to any of the individuals or businesses that post on this forum.

    8. The affiliates4u forums are moderated by a team of excellent moderators; unfortunately they are not always available 24/7.
8.1. If you spot anything that breaks the rules above please use the 'report post' button at the top of every post on the forums.
    9. Please remember that moderators are volunteer helpers that are here to ensure the forum runs smoothly. Please respect this if they have to contact you/edit/remove or add additional comments to your posts.
9.1. Abuse towards moderators will not be tolerated and may result in you being banned
9.2. Should you have any issues with a moderator you must contact the forum administrator.
    10. Postings that are designed with the intention to drive traffic to a member's site, or affiliated sites will be removed or edited, as the moderator(s) feels appropriate.

    11. Signatures are a great way of promoting your affiliate programme, site or business and we encourage their use on the board and within profiles. However we have the following rules on their use:
11.1. Please keep signatures to a maximum of two lines.
11.2. Do not include large images or banners.
11.3. Do not include affiliate links in your signatures.
11.4. Do not increase the font size to more than the standard forum style.
    12. We have a reward and infraction system on the affiliates4u forums in place. We have found historically that this works well at regulating members on the site and making sure that Infractions can be given by any moderator if a user breaks any of the rules above then they may be given an infraction, this could result in the following:
12.1. 2 points - You will be banned from posting for 5 days.
12.2. More than 4 points in 10 days - posting rights will be removed for a month.
12.3. Infraction points will last for 10 days and then they are automatically cleared.
    13. Reputation points can be added or taken away by any of the members of affiliates4u and represents a good indicator of the reputation of individual members of affiliates4u.
13.1. Reputation points should be given to users who post constructive, well thought out and pertinent posts about relevant affiliate marketing topics.
13.2. Conversely reputation points can also be taken away if posts do not meet the criteria above.

Do the new rules include a ban on no more "i agree" posts from newbies?

Perhaps increasing the mnimum word content to say 10 would be useful then we don't have to wade through numerous replies of 'great', 'thank you' etc. Especially as a thank you button already exists.

Or just decreasing the amount of time between being allowed to spam report people.
