I use Yahoo Overture as well as Adwords in my PPC campaigns and find them to work quite well, yet all I ever read about is Adwords. Does anyone else use Yahoo Overture or is there something I should know about it?
Although more traffic come from Google it seems more advertisers go to Google too. If there are less advertisers using Yahoo doesn't that give my ads a far better chance of being right at the top?
I'm no 'expert' in the PPC field, I centre more around the marketing world as I've worked in the business for years before my internet ventures. I'd really like your views on this bad boy; should I drop my Yahoo campaign and invest in Adwords? (Newbies and experts)
Much appreciated!!

what you need to do is segment your ad campaigns in several sections and monitor each one seperatly. Both search engines are brillient and work better in several sectors.
Try to minimize and the keywords in each ad on both channels. I normally analyse each keyword based on conversion rate, cost of the conversion and placement of the ad appearing alognside the competitors.
Personally I had a rubbish experience with Yahoo and ended up getting my money back.
I use Adwords, Miva, Mirago, Splut, Thomsonlocal and Yell.com and I am very happy with the results.
Maybe Microsoft will be able to take Yahoo over and change things for the better but until then I dont use Yahoo for any traffic.
Until I need the potential extra market share to support another van/driver and pay for my £149.99 comfy faux leather office chair from Staples Im not touching Yahoo again with a 3000ft bargepole!
Unless Overture buy me said faux leather chair to make amends.......... I might say yes then as I check my emails in supreme comfort
I do monitor and test all the time. Yahoo does confuse me more than Adwords I'll give you that one.
I might cancel my account and concentrate all my efforts on Adwords.
Do Adwords ads get displayed on third party sites by the way? Just asking beacuse as far as I can understand Yahoo charge extra to appear on third party sites and I'm not 100% sure if I have to register somewhere to do that with Google.

Registering and using Yahoo is a bit pain but you get good value for your money. I have observed Yahoo CPCs are cheaper than those in Adwords. I agree that's mainly because Google attracts more traffic but there are specific countries/regions where Yahoo still rules and if you are targeting your ads for any such location then I personally would prefer to use Yahoo over Adwords.
