Any Recovery After The Weekend's AdWords Maintenance And Last Week's Google Slap?
With all the discussion this latest big AdWord's slap has created, a number of people mentioned they thought this was a bug rather than an actual attempt to remove affiliates from AdWords. A couple of people mentioned the weekend maintenance was a hint that this may be the case. So, now the work at AdWords has been done, has anyone seen a recovery on campaigns and cpc after being thwacked?
I've not seen any improvement on any of my accounts yet, but I haven't tried to restart any of them either. I think the hope it was a bug is starting to look like people clutching at he last few straws of hope.

Has not made any difference to my campaigns, still slapped. Just tried to add some new keywords and they went straight in at £5 minimum bid. Its Googles way of saying get lost i think.
Just for a laugh , on a campaign thats not been slapped yet i added the keyword 'constantinoplexxxxx' an utterly nonsense that appears absolutely nowhere on my pages or ads and apparently it had a 'Great' Quality Score proving that Quality score is an absolute joke.
The thing is, i know that some sites that were hit were little more than landing pages, but others that were hit were fairly decent sites. It would'nt be so bad if they gave you an idea why they decided to slap you but i'm sure its a waste of bandwidth and my time emailing them to find out.

Nope, no recovery here.
I`ve set up a totally new adwords account tonight, and copied all the campaign data over, and started again on a brand new url. Pisses me off though, as I had a great CTR and so had really low CPC's. Now they are much higher for a lower position.
Its the last time i`m doing it though, if it happens again thats it. Cost me £12 for a new domain and new signup fee to adwords, as well as the time taken to do it, so its just not worth it.
Setting up a new account was a horrendous experience which took ages, Adwords kept crapping out on me, so you had to do the same things over and over until it worked - real pain in the arse.
My ad's are now displaying again. Hopefully they will stay up for a decent amount of time and won't die tomorrow.
It does look though that if your account has been slapped this is the only option.
