PPC Landing Pages - does duplicat content matter?
Hi All
Im going to start PPC properly in a couple of weeks after Dublin..guinness...yum. Not given it a chance much in the past and stopped early.
Say if i was targeting a product which has several models. The text for the landing page (and pages linking from the landing page to a info page for example) could that be used for another landing page for a similar item or does the duplicate content issue arise?
Cheers
Rob

From what i`ve seen Google looks more now at your site as a whole, rather than just at the landing page.
Because of this, I would try not to generate duplicate content where possible. It does take extra work, but because the english language is so varied there are several ways of saying essentially the same thing, and this is enough to keep Google happy.
With the recent Google slap situation, I would do everything possible to make sure the landing page and site is the best it can be, I wouldn't scrimp on anything. You've got a much better chance of it lasting and doing well that way.

PPC is all new to me, been into seo from the start but not eager to get into ppc but without being a bull in a china shop
Ive learnt the hardway not to cut corners so thought it best to ask
Cheers for your feedback

No problem!
Google is making much more of a fuss over the landing page now than they used to, so it's really important to get it right.
It's so frustrating when you're PPC campaign is earning you good money, and then suddenly google put the bid prices up to £2.50 / £5!
Unfortunately, theres a real lack of logic applied to this so theres no way to guarantee it won't happen, but by making the landing page the best it can be you've done your best to minimise the chances of this happening.
Have a look at the following two Google help pages, which go some way to explaining what they are after:
https://adwords.google.com/support/b...y?answer=10215
https://adwords.google.com/support/b...y?answer=46675
There are more things now that you need to have on your site as a whole, rather than just on the landing page, such as a page with contact details and a privacy policy.
