  Contact Lens Retailer (Potential Merchant)

What advice would A4U members offer a contact lens retailer (Potential Merchant) who would like to leverage Affiliate Marketing to drive significant sales growth ?

The contact lens retailer has previously and unsuccessfully launched an Affiliate programme c. 12 to 18 months ago.

Hi,

You need to take into consideration that users who purchase contact lenses online are looking for the cheapest price available. So your merchant needs to be competitively priced and offer good customer service as well.

Your offer to the affiliates also needs to be competitive. I know of a number of successful contact lens programs, so if you have a look around the forum you can find the details of their programs. Some of these include Get Lenses, Vision Direct, Lensbase etc, which all have programs on Webgains.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

In addition to Emma's comments, it follows that the quality of your website in terms of design, navigation, security, ease-of-use, accessibility, etc will have a major factor on a campaigns success.

I would also like to add that in such a competitive channel, day to day affiliate management may make the difference, with continuously upated creative, promotions, etc.

Good luck with your campaign.
