Over the next few weeks our technical team (and myself...!) are looking to improve affiliates4u. It has been nearly a year since we launched our beta version of the new look affiliates4u site and we think it's time for an upgrade!
We're making changes to quite a few sections of the site, but for now any thoughts/ideas/cravings(!) you have and would like to see on the site please let us know below!
Initially we'll be making minor changes to the Blogs, Providers, Events, Forum and Members section and also a major change to the homepage to incorporate a 'dashboard' feel. Pete & Nick will be checking this thread, so be as technical as you want in your replies if needs be.
Cheers

To further on from Chris' post, I will be looking at designing and putting together the user controlled dashboard which will be used on the logged in homepage. Think along the sames lines of the control offered on the new BBC website. BBC - Homepage
What I'd really love to hear about is just what options you'd like to see. We will be implementing drag/drop content units for the big stuff such as recent/popular posts and threads, forum sections, blog comments, latest jobs etc.. but now is your chance to let us know anything you'd find useful that we might have overlooked.
Go into as much detail as you like and be as clear as you can. The more input we get the better the site will be for everyone.
We look forward to your suggestions
Improve blog directory page.
1. Make the listings smaller so you can see more new blogs above the fold.
2. Fix the login so it remembers you when you return to the site. Sick of having to login every time.
Will think of some more. These are just the first 2 that spring to mind.

How about something to speed up spam removal?
For example, say 5 people report a post as spam it's automatically removed and put in a holding pen somewhere for a moderator to approve deletion.
If an item isn't spam, but people trying to get rid of someones post, then the post would be reinstated and the people who reported it have their reputation points docked or similar.
Organising the sub forums better.
I'm sure I'm starting to get RSI in my little mouse finger because of scrolling down all the way down to see the sub forums at the bottom.
I think also these forums will see more activity if this was achieved.
We really want to make some neat improvements to make the site more function-able and usable, Nick and Pete have some time set aside to make it happen!
We never had the time and resource to go back after beta launch to tidy things up, happily now the a4uexpo site is now live, we do! :tup
All I want for Christmas is for the login function to work properly.
Hey Guys,
In the events section it would be great if the calendar feature for the current month flashed up above the posts, just to give an overall picture prior to looking through the posts
Cheers
Laura

Well I enjoy posting on the front page thoughts however I have noticed from time to time certain characters do not work, sorry can’t remember them right now and besides you guys can do the testingbut be good if everything from . , - + = ! “ £ $ & ; : worked in these boxes, minor I know but an enjoyable part of the site that could be improved a little.
The ability to jump from one forum to another with one click. The current width looks like 800px. I very much doubt many people would be inconvenienced by widening this to allow a list of forum links on the left hand side above the fold.
I only ever use the 'New Post' button so the rest of the sites layout doesn't really bother me.
However would it be possible to have a forum section for members looking for people to work on their site?
I have tried all the freelance sites and always seem to get a muppet. I would love to put an ad on here to get some help with content writing and design but their doesn't seem to be anywhere to ask for a request.
Ta
Some great suggestions there.
Agree with this one.
Also, many people have complained over the months about their avatars not showing on the forums.
Overall, though, I will say this: Existem have created the best affiliate portal anywhere in the world. The Yankee forums are just customised versions of vBulletin, but A4U is in a league of its own.
