Well they did say that I had to transfer it to Lacoste but i'd already deleted it by the time they replied to me so looks like they've registered it themselves now
The matter between me and them is now closed and it wasn't too painful![]()
Looking at your link to your site i see that it now redirects to Lacoste's own site - Is this something you did, or was it demanded (agreed), or did you have to hand over to Lacoste?
Eager to know where this went since your last post.

This is from first hand experience so it really is a been there done that (it right royally screwed up last christmas and my birthday).
What we found worked best was to try and reason with them.
Make sure that you let them know that you havent made much money out of it, offer them a breakdown of any sales and also offer to sign a affadivit that you would not do it again.
They may still want some costs (the solicitors that were against us were charging £300 per hour and we had about 10 letters back and forth between us) but whatever the outcome if you have to pay make sure you get a letter of confirmation that the legal complaint is settelled in full.
By the way, writing "without prejudice" at the top of letters doesn't cover you any more against any letters being used in a court of law but it doesn't hurt to include it.
One thing I do find strange is that they've come out straight away with a value on compensation. With us they didn't put a figure on it but claimed against all sorts.
and the b*sterds had the cheek to put merry Christamas at the bottom of their letter :cry

CALL A SOLICITOR NOW. (A quick call and advice will be free)...
The bit I don't like here is "to compensate client"...
Could be a scare tactic - but do what ever they ask (hence get legal advice yesterday)...
Aff.
Think you need to read the reply from bedazzledaz a few hours back

Don't you mean your partner has had some legal threats...? No wonder you can ignore them!
I had something similar to this when I was 'learning' and I just rang them up and within 5 minutes I'd agreed to transfer the domain - they even sent me a cheque for £8 to cover costs. Still got it somewhere... I've not tried anything similar since!
Sounds like you did the right thing. Unless you were doing something really inadvisable with the site then it sorts itself out with a few conversations and a transfer of the domain.
Any Lacoste domains going as I may buy one. :tup
Lacoste can no longer be trademarked as a name. Looking forward to this one.

A lot of good varied advice given above, though enterting into dialogue can protract things as solicitors just want to receive further fees. We have so far always avoided purchasing domains with other brand names in them, however sometimes to best treatment for any correspondence is simply to make a paper aeroplane out of it.

Hopefully you'll have no further comeback.
