how many sites do you full timers have?

Life is to short!!! -
I just had two weeks off from my main job, and without going into it to much my girlfriends dad died infront of us , we burried him that week with me carrying the coffin. He had only been retired 6 months. Total and utter waste

Anyway,

Being back in my main job is now EVEN MORE uninteresting!!

Aside from the story above, im wondering how many full timers here have 1-3 sites and do ok as many people say niche niche niche which in my view could get hard to juggle .

Being in the mainstream 9-5 till 62 just seems like a gamble id rather do elsewhere.

Anyones feedback would be great.

Rob

Re: how many sites do you full timers have?

yeah ive got my main one, wit a few up and coming

people always say go niche incase you have one main one and are slapped. If that was a case, theres alot of companies out there in retail who could also get slapped so being an affiliate , i dont see why we should all have more than a few

The way we do our sites , it take it most of us do the links, content more or less the same throughout so if one gets slapped whos to say the rest wont

Sorry about your news.

I have around ten sites with 70% of my income from three of them.
A couple of niche sites make a small amount per month but require no work.
Good luck
Paul

Sorry to hear about your g/f's dad, agree that life is too short.

I'd like to think that the full time affiliates run just a handful of sites that produce a large percentage of their income, others run ppc campaigns. It can be hard to juggle more than a few.

sorry to hear about the sad news too

I have lots of sites, too many, about 25ish, all relatively small ones, but about 80% of my income comes from 2 of them.

I have a full time job which evryone thinks is a great job, well everyone apart from me! My missus won't let me quit as she prefers job security rather than my happiness!

When she talks to her family she always goes on about how much time I spend playing on the computer, it drives me insane! I can't remember the last time I played a game on the computer!

She set me a good goal to have, save £15,000 and she'll consider having another kid, bloody WOMEN!!

Re: how many sites do you full timers have?

That's harsh Rob - hope your partner is doing okay.

I find the number of sites vary as you try different things. For me, niche is a strategy and it's about finding strategies that work. I keep the sites that make money, and tend to forget about the ones that don't. What starts as a niche site can also grow into a very profitable 'main' site - which may mean you need fewer small sites as it's too easy to spread yourself thin.

My income comes from 5 sites, with 20+ that just sit there making pennies. But those stingy sites could turn out to be winners one day. As for maintenance, I suppose it depends on what format they take - blogs/articles need updating and adding to, but feeds can be automated and updated very quickly.

Thanks to everyone for their comments on lorna's dad. Asbestos was the cause. So horrid

I agree on the small sites can grow into a large site, thats how my first one started off and oneday google decided to rank it really high and i nearly fainted.
