  Whats happened to Splut?...

Having major hassle with Splut, Vendora and UK banners at the moment.

Im currently trying to get my password sent to me from Splut with no joy and no reply to any emails or letters iv sent to them

Trying to add money to my Vendora account and again no joy and the payment system looks like its down

ukbanners have been reviewing my account for a while now with no update

Are there any insiders down in Daventry? Are they going under or has something happened they were so good at one point

Now that Toxic Lemon, Limey Search, Search Uno, 191.com have gone to the retirement home for independent UK search engines im worrying now..... I love Splut its made me £££'s over the years.

I hope Mirago doesnt bite the bullet! or Miva!

  Re: Whats happened to Splut?...

Its amazing how the industry has changed in the last couple of years, many of the sites you mention were/are ppc affiliates that got their traffic from google. All these sites have lost a tonne of traffic in recent times.

Its exceptionally dificult for cpc affiliates at the moment because the model involves driving clicks and sending users away from your site, so even when you have content or your own index you are still channelling people through your pages and onto other sites. Google has made this painful in both the organic and paid listings so how do you get the users, never mind grow.

So lesser search engines and ppc's are going to suffer as it all dries up. However some good alternative traffic sources to Google have gone or declined forever methinks.

Your right and guess who's launching a new comparioson site in a few weeks

I think people will ditch Google once they realise its the Tesco of the Internet

All the small home grown sites are gone and everyone uses the Google supermarket!

The password reminders from our system are automated and are working fine.

You may find your ISP/Email is spam filtering them ?

Vendora is a relatively new site, and we're building it bit by bit, and we haven't felt in the position to take any payments that customers would consume in a decent time span. Most of our customers have a Splut account and we'd be more than happy to transfer some of your funds from that account.

All banners have been approved. So if it's still pending review, it maybe put on hold for a reason. What type of site is it ?

We're still here, and on the up and up. I'm sorry your experience hasn't reflected that.

I don't always drop into this forum, so apologies if I don't reply quicker.

My personal E-mail is david at splut dot com if you'd like to contact me and I'll see to your issues personally.
