OH AND PS !!
If you decide to turn your attentions to making other peoples dreams come true (financially), can I be one of the PLEASE PLEASE ...........
I read with interest an article on "Kevin Ham" - "the man who owns the internet" was a title on the front of one magazine.
A portfolio of over 300,000 domains and makes a million dollars per week, but to put it into the context of this thread, what was his motivation ??
It was not money, it was spreading the word about gospel and religion, he wanted some major one-word domain names and quickly realised he would need an enormous amount of cash to 'spread the word'.
That was his motivation, perhaps you could find one, kids, charities, etc.
His ideals and ambitions gave him his drive.

just like what everybody said, have abreak, take on a vacation, do something else, try a new hobby or sports, get away from the computer for a while.. when you're back, you can have another small job or something that might keep you busy other than affiliate marketing. you can't possibly give up AM just like that, you just need to do something else. i bet a lot of people wish to be where you are now..
Discover How a Little Girl Earns Over $10,000 Per Month Online. I Reveal All My Secrets On My Blog:
I hear u OP!
Now, i don't hear the abundance of cash ringing in my ears like it's tinitus, but i do have the feeling of churning out another site, links (aaargh) and ppc again... rinse and repeat! My current focus in AM is turning out loads of niche sites, and home alone is the biggest drawback.
The single biggest motivator for me is to work with other people. I personally work harder if i've got someone relying on my work, I'm not going to kid myself. Otherwise it's too tempting to lose focus (replying to forums?) and spend 12 slow hrs at the PC rather than 8 focused ones!
As such, I'd suggest linking up with other people. No matter what - work or play - other people I think hold the key. They open up your life in ways you can't yet imagine.
Here's a great question I asked myself recently (after reading it online, of course):
"If you could succeed at anything, with no chance of failure, what would you do?"
My answer came immediately, as did my girlfriends. Did yours?
Grab your kahunas and and chase that dream. As i result I Googled out a group of like minds, and meet up regularly. One of the benefits i must admit of just moving to London - there's a group for everyone.
Personally, I've got a hundred and one business ideas, just want to get my affi income more secure and then onto those new fields. If you like the idea of new businesses and have got the time n cash, choose a project, get stuck in, awesome! That's what I'll be doing once I am where you are.
Mike.
PS i'm a full time bedroom affiliate in London, if anyone else is too and would like to meet up, throw some ideas around, do a project, feel free get in touch.
Im similar
Not AM fulltime, but don't have as much drive as a did a few months ago but working on it. Sitting infront the PC has gone a bit dry.
I earn about half online of what I earn in my computer job, but i would love to change jobs. Had enough of peoples pc problems, done that for 12 years.
If anyone has any ideas of a 33 year old IT engineer can go into whilst earning good money online, please send your suggestions

I've just stumbled upon this thread, and many of the sentiments echo exactly the way I've been feeling over the last few weeks - and especially the last few days.
I suspect most of it comes from the lack of hunger in me now.
When I first started out, around 18 months ago, I was sat at home with no electricity, no gas and no food in the cupboard. I literally didn't have a penny to my name - and I've always been too proud to claim benefits.
I got into this industry by going door-to-door and offering to wash people's cars on their driveway, at £3 a go. I'd do maybe 5 or 6 cars a day, and this allowed me to buy food, heat and power. I used the local library to build my first site, bought a domain and some very cheap hosting. I'd then promote the site by standing outside shops handing out leaflets that I'd had printed at £15 per thousand.
I did that for a couple of months, and slowly but surely I started earning enough for it to be considered a 'proper job', and began structuring things more effectively.
After a little longer, I brought in a silent partner and we formed the company is it now stands. As many of you will know, we've grown a bit bit since then and generally speaking most of the projects I've done have turned out successful.
The problem I find now though is that the hunger is gone. When I started, it was exciting to see the incoming rising each day - £50 one day, £60 the next and so on.
Now, it's all just figures on a spreadsheet.
In a very short space of time, it's given me a very nice house, nice car and enough to ensure I'm comfortable if If ever things went 'pear shaped'. Put simply, I have no real motivation anymore. I haven't turned 30 yet, so throwing in the towel is out of the question!
I've worked 18 hours a day, almost every day since I started (with only 2 one-week breaks along the way), so I'm sure burnout is taking it's toll on me now too.
Time for a break, some R&R and reflection I think!
You could build me a site and ill see if I get bored with more money in the bank than I know what to do with!! we could be bored together!!:tup
Having worked in a 'day' job which bored the pants off me, I tried other things like property . My suggestion is try something which you never had time for before but a real passion for, e.g. a hobby or sport - which may turn into a potential off-line business.
I'm just starting out, and some of the posts are really inspirational. Hope to get there some day!
Although its actually used for problem solving, the following is one of the most helpful things I've come across in trying to figure out where you are going when you're feeling a bit disgruntled / deciding whether things are worth doing or not.
Particularly helpful when you've got too many ideas/projects in your head and no boss to tell you what to do next.
If you woke up in the morning and things were just as you wanted them to be, what would it look like and how would you spend your day ? Sounds simplistic, but without the vision, the inbetween steps just won't be clear.
I became a governor in January this year, then went into school for 2 days a week as a volunteer, started a reading group as well as working with kids with special needs.
I start for a couple of hours in september paid, so can work in school in mornings and affiliate marketing in the afternoons, a regular wage, plus continuing my favourite pass time.
all adds to the experience I need when Im back at uni next year to train to be a primary teacher.
