    Good Day.

Hope you are all well whatever...

I'm bored so I set myself the following NOOB hypotenuse:

What's the odds of raking in SEO traffic for MASSIVE KEYWORDS very quickly and from scratch with NO backlink strategy?

Please don't answer that, it's a recipritorical question.

    NOOBS. Listen up. Seriously.

When you lot are not annoying me you're normally hiding under your beds or phoning your mums asking how to do stuff.

Normally this means you're brains are going round in circles wondering what to do rather than just doing it to find out.

Because of this mentality you may seem to be getting nowhere, although on the other hand I've seen some impressive stuff from noobs of late.

    Now then.

BACK LINKS OR ON PAGE SEO? Again don't answer that its a repricatingoxidizal question.

I have always harped on about how EASY its is to get traffic (takes a bit of graft but what doesn't) to get sales from free traffic via mini and medium sized sites.

I've advocated spending your time on ON-PAGE SEO over and above off-page SEO (it's easier and works; see my free cluster article on my bog).

    Now here's the big CRUNCH.

Last week I set on a numpty (I can call him that cos I pay his wages - £3.48 an hour before tax).

His job is to run a TEST to see if he can get traffic from utilizing MASSIVE keywords (and I mean as big as they get) just from on page SEO using my wisdom and techniques, and he's got one day to work on back links (off-page).

I am 100% confident this will work. He is a total novice to AM and SEO and all that cobblers, plus I had to help him spell his name when he signed his hourly rate agreement.

His instructions are to stick 10 keywords I have given him in the GKWT (google kw tool) look at the results and load the pages (evenly of course keyword density fans) with content relevant to those KW's.

    F***** obvious isn't it.

BUT. I will update this post in about 7 weeks (maybe a few preliminaries too) to summarise what he did, how long it took and how much traffic this ON PAGE SEO method has pulled.

THE RESULTS WILL HAVE SIGNIFICANCE FOR NOOBS (I'm not interested in the succesful guys they're already ok and annoy the hell out of me anyway - apart from TBP).

If NUMPTY can pull this off so CAN ANYBODY.

I'm not gonna reveal the keywords (sh*t for brains) but the summary, results and conclusions will be interesting.

If it gets ZERO traffic and was a waste of time I'll fire his a*s and be straight about the results on here (as ever).

The hypothesis for this remember is:

"is it possible to get sh*t loads of SEO traffic for massive keywords quickly and from scratch with no significant backlink juice?"

    To be f****** continued.

    Aff.

PS. If you got something negative to say, shove it up your a*s.
It is my intention that this exercise prove a point and as ever positivity is 90% of the battle.

Do I expect NuMPTY O'Neill to get "massive keyword" on the first 3 pages of Google? DIF.
What I predict will happen is he will get traffic from "massive keyword what whatever"

    Catch my drift....

What is your definition of a "massive" keyword?

I'm about to go to the pub - but "flights" will suffice...

What did you think I meant... "Camping in a small Indiana town called frizlly"

So if I read it right you don't expect to rank for the "massive" keyword by itself, but hope to rank for some longtail search terms containing the "massive" keyword within it?

so not ranking for "flights" directly, but ranking for terms such as "cheap flights to Egypt" for example?

Probably 'cheap return flights to the moon' (or Mars) or whatever planet he's on this month

I've actually been camping in Indiana. I lived in a place called Lafayette, home of Axl Rose, 1hr from Indianapolis.

    LOL, thanks Affi

Looking forward to seeing the results on this, going to be an interesting experiment!

From the way I work on my own sites, and not bothering with any back links I think theres definately a chance it could work out. From my own experiments I know it is possible to get results from big keywords and no backlinks, but time is a big factor. You don't have to do anything in that time, but the longer the site is up the more it moves up googles index and gets better results. Mine took 8 months, so will be interesting to see if that process can be speeded up.

Sure i`ll get people disagreeing with this, but all I can do is post what i've seen from my own experiments.

With you 100%, I have a highly popular site with massive visitor numbers and very high seo positioning for incredibly competitive words (as high as i'll go without toppling the manufacturer, and that would be impossible). All this was done with fresh content, seo but definatly no backlink work, although this has come over time as popularity has grown.

Hope it goes well, if not, back to burger king for your £3.48 noob

    Agree with Ian D.

    The answer is yes.

There you go. Answered your question seven weeks early.

Thats correct plan 9 channel 7 - this is about using longer tail keywords WHICH INCLUDE keywords that moost noobs wouldn't dare tackle.

THAT'S THE POINT - there are a lot of opportunities and FEAR prevents the majority of noobs from trying.

For the record I use this tactic myself day in day out and it's easy money.

I've just left NUMPTY to get on with it with ABSOLUTELY ZERO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE of websites, AM, SEO etc...

If he can do it, and I know he will because he IS doing - as I write - exactly what I instructed, anybody can do it.

The guy who mentioned "cheap flights to the moon" - can you not read? I asked for no negativity and who gives a f*** what planet I'm on...

NOOBS - LISTEN UP - this works. Period.

NUMPTY has created 2 sites already using some basic html template I gave him, he has done so in less than 8 hours and with nothing less than 1 page of "what to do" notes and 30 minutes of me showing him how to use EditPlus in his grotty bedsit (nice bird though).

I KNOW he will get free traffic for searches that include our MASSIVE keywords.

Broadband, Travel, Finance and Mobile Phones are ripe for this stratgey to name but a few.

In around 5 weeks I'll bang some stat data up (screen shots) and a log of his hours worked.

Cheers plan 5 for a sensible question...

    Hi Ian and TBP,

cheers for the support on this guys.

Although I take great pleasure in knocking the manufacturers of #1 personally.

One of my "testers" did this recently - knocking a global brand off #1 for THE MAIN KEYWORD (not even a long tail one) again with no prior experience of trying this.

For the record THIS WAS A HUGE GENERIC KEYWORD not some ministe keyword.

The problem is if you do upset the apple cart too much it can back-fire and you'll get whacked into SERP oblivion - thats why LONG TAIL on massive keywords is a better short to medium term strategy...

Sure if you get to #1 for "bt broadband" for 20 minutes that's a bonus but it's the "compare tiscali wireless broadband with bt" stuff that brings in bead and butter, every little helps...

Cheers again Ian - Noobs pay attention...

    Aff
