Got on the phone this morning in my cheeriest voice to inform a gal that she had won a wii for doing her shopping through one of my links...

...only to be told that she had to cancel (later than the last minute) both her Lourdes accommodation and her flights, because her terminally ill uncle, who she was taking to lourdes, had died.

Feeling a bit of a t@#t, I asked her if the merchants were okay with her doing this and she made me privvy to the emails that her husband had sent back and forth to both of the merchants.

Not only did both agree the cancellation, they BOTH, waived the cancellation fee and sent best wishes.

Needless to say that as the commission has already gone through I will donate it to a worthy cause.

Fantastic stuff - it's nice to hear good things on the forum once in a while! And nice one for donating the commission too. Sorry to hear about the passing, but it's a wonderful story otherwise

It blew me away to be honest and I am going to make a point of posting something on the issue on Monday morning when the forum is busy. Gestures like the ones made here should not go unnoticed - jeez, they'll start to give merchants a good name, and then who would we have to talk about
