Google Base & Affiliate Links

What's the score with the networks on this? Google don't allow it but I see countless affiliate links in Google Base - some going direct to merchant and others via landing pages. Sometimes the merchant and the affiliate are in the same set of results. Do any of the networks have an opinion on this dodgy (IMO) tactic?

I've only ever seen this happen via two networks, AW and TD. If you report it to them they'll sort it out pretty quick.

The majority I see are links direct to merchant via Webgains or via a landing page. I'll get onto them and see if there's anything they can do.

We had a couple of affiliates do this which was not only against google bases T&C but also our own.
Quick email to the network and also to the affiliates and then when the affiliates were ignoring the email declining their commission made them stand up and take notice.
