Glad to see someone else is doing my job for me! Fair FX is on Affiliate Future and it is a nice little program. They have a good team down there - they're on top of the account management and order checking, and they are developing some nice interactive creatives especially for us, which should be ready soonish (though as with anything finance related there can be a delay while it is approved by all their legal folk).

If you (or anyone else) wants more details then the program is live in the affiliate future control panel, or you can drop me a line.

I love my FairFX cards I had a look at Caxton and there rates are not as good as Fairfx which are usually $0.01/€0.01 better and the ATM fees are cheaper by $1/€0.50. Great cards.

Oooooh, another reason to advertise FairFX... they have two affiliate promotions on at the moment . Can't argue with a free trip to Ibiza!

New affiliates:
Start promoting FairFX currency cards and you could win a top of the range Sony Playstation! If you didn’t make any sales for FairFX in June, then generate at least 2 sales between 1st July 2008 and 31st July 2008 and you will earn an entry into the prize draw to win a Sony Playstation. Every 2 sales after that will earn you another entry!

All / existing affiliates
The affiliate who generates the highest number of sales between 1st July 2008 and 31st July 2008 will win a trip to Ibiza, flight and accommodation included. Alternative prize is £600 worth of holiday vouchers.

Quite keen to avoid this thread being hijacked and becoming "A war of the FX Cards" thread - but you are right, FairFx seem to provid a better rate by a cent or a euro cent but the main reason for us choosing to promote Caxton FX over Fair FX in the first instance was the differential in the application fee and I think Caxton are doing a lot more to promote themselves in print media which obviously provides us with a better conversion rate too.

Anyway, we aim to get all cards listed as we expand the site, so glad you like your card and we hope other consumers will too.

Cheers....

Hi again,
Just wanted to thank you for your post as i think we really did need to change that dollar sign. Thinking about it, we should have spent the money on the pound notes a lot sooner as the last thing we want is for visitors to arrive and leave thinking its a US site.

Made some changes - still getting used to them but hope the pound notes meet your approval.

Thanks for your critical feedback.

Hi Paid365

I'm not going to hijack your thread as requested
(I'll send you a PM instead of why you should be promoting FairFX!)

Anybody else want to know the benefits of the FairFX card please feel free to send me a PM.

David

re FairFX there is a thread with my early experiences here: New Merchant - FairFX

Prepaid365 - nice site good job.

One thing I would want to see, especially for a finance vertical, is specific company contact details. Not just 'we are prepaid365.com' yeah we know that, you're a domain name! Something more specific - we are Prepaid365 Ltd our company registration number is XXXXX our VAT number is YYYY and our Data Protection registration is ZZZZZ, our postal address is BLAH'.

Gimme something with an audit trail that I could verify va a third party (eg WebCHeck - Select and Access Company Information)

Hi Matt,
I am sure you are not trying to discredit our site or our work or the faith our existing clients have placed in us by listing their programmes on the site but we are affiliates, not merchants. We do not have a company registration number, or a VAT Number - so that we could share it with you. We dont have company details, cuz we are not a company yet. A couple of designers being guided by some leading prepaid card consultants and a single Business Development contact - mua

Although we are very hopeful that when the prepaid market starts achieiving the sort of hype it promises, we will be large enough to provide you with an audit trail.

Although not sure what you wish to audit and why?

Glad you like the site anyway but not so glad about your negativity or (un)intentional attempt to create some doubt about the legitimacy of our operations under the banner of being a "finance vertical" affiliate.

Have a good day!

Wooooh. You misunderstand me mate.

No need to be so defensive.

I am saying if I was a consumer visiting your site I would have more confidence in you if you identified yourself in some way that could be checked.

You can set up as a UK Limited company for less than a hundred quid. Then anyone who wanted to could go to the Companies House website and check you are who you say you are, where you are registered and who your directors are.

It's not just about being legitimate, it's about being visibly legitimate.

Personally, I don't care. And certainly I'm not interested in auditing you. You misunderstand my use of the word 'audit' - perhaps 'verify' would have been better but it's clear what I meant.

I was trying to be helpful. Shan't bother in the future.

Hah hah

Matt, Ash and his team are "young".

I can see him thinking - here is someone trying to "s**t" all over my dream and it does come across as being a bit negative as you missed out the one important bit that it would be "consumers" who may care and not other affiliates or merchants.

Ash, registration and building consumer confidence is not necessarily a bad idea and I would certainly recommend it for phase 2 of your site build.

Remember, its not just about a great site and great merchants but also great sales that are going to put "food on the table" mate.

That's it - I have preached enough for today....

Yoram
