    Hi there all,

May sound a stupid question but hey, here goes!

Are there any tools which will enable you to see what page on google your URL is on for a keyword without having to trawl through google results?

If not a specific tool, a quick way?

    Hi geordiboyo,

My wife is the SEO guru and she has a great Frfox plug in which searches Google, Yahoo and MSN pretty quickly and also allows you to save your serch terms against a domain name. Just found it on my laptop! It's called Rank Checker.

    Hope it helps.

    Hello Geordiboyo,

I'm kind of in the same position as you, as I need to find out where my site ranks on a selection of key terms, so I spent quite a bit of time looking around for an automated tool which does that. WebCEO is ( SEO Software by Web CEO :: Search Engine Optimization Software / Complete SEO Toolkit :: Website Optimization, Promotion and Submission SEO Software) a good all round tool for doing that and a whole bunch of other things. You can use the free version for basic stuff, or pay about $100 to do more, but it is an application rather than a plug in to your browser, which doesn't suit everyone.

The only other thing I'd say though, is that checking rankings in an automated fashion doesn't really tell you very much about what else is going on in your market. I use WebCEO to record the positions every day, but I also spend 20 minutes or so doing it for myself in Google and the time spent is invaluable in terms of understanding what the other players in the market are up to.

    Thanks,

    Alex
