It is good to see that the BBC is spending (wasting) OUR hard earned money on dodgy spam videos. What a waste of time :td

Such poor journalism with the usual spin - naturally they fail to detail the context of her signing up to all the sites and asking for email alerts!
Reminds me of the hugely slanderous Big Sam Allardyce and Harry Redknapp documentary for taking bungs when there sole proof was a bit of pub talk/banter!
The beeb - Up the wall I tell you - Topgear is the only reason to watch it!
totalscare mongoring and hype by the BBC and a very unbalance report from the BBC, seriously, I can't beleive the general public will watch this, its totally skewed.
they use SPAM as a term to blanket all email marketing optin, optout or SPAM and its totally misguiding.
WHat they should do, is post up the can-spam laws and details about opt-in opt-out.
I've written about it in more detail on my blog - (not going to link to it but it here) affiliateblogger.co.uk/bbc-do-your-fing-research/2008/07/03/
Completely ham-fisted attempt by the BBC to try and draw attention to a really important topic. I don't believe for a second that Clarke would sell or buy email subscriptions but watching that clip it's what you'd think has happened. I'd certainly chase the BBC for some sort of redress.
Disgraceful.
Ben
There will come a time, shortly after political correctness has died a long overdue death, where news reports about important topics will communicate the seriousness of the problem without using resorting to the 'think of the children' line to make us recoil in horror.
If it's such a problem for your children, then please ask them to stay at least 10 feet away from the computer at all times.
Such blatant journalistic tactics just cheapen any article which resorts to them.
Oh, and as various people have already pointed out, what exactly are this lady's credentials to offer any sort of opinion on this at all?!

yep have to agree, i'd certainly complain and even start some kind of legal proceedings!
do you have any plans to do so ?
:td I wouldn't be happy with that Supercod, definately the Beeb using their name for shoddy reporting again...
You even use double opt-in don't you. How can the woman have a moan showing your email - she shouldn't have opted in. You do get them don't you!
Posted an article about it here BBC News experiment overloads brain cells of editors | Affiliate Marketing Blog please feel free to complain to the BBC after reading the article, and write a short blog post in support that user emails are not spam, and the BBC should dam well know this.
