Is there an easy way to run an online shop?

Hi,

Is there anyway to have an online shop integrated into my website yet another company handles all the shipping, payments, refunds, complaints etc. and pays me a percentage based on the profit from the sale of items?

Is there a term I should be searching for?

I have two different areas of interest, poultry - chicken feed, housing, fencing etc. and Poker - Chips, cards etc.

Any ideas?

You're describing affiliate marketing which is what this forum is all about! There is a huge amount of valuable information here so I'd suggest you read through plenty of old threads and of course post any questions you may have.

I don't really want to just link to the site, I want everything to done on my site, content, images, etc.

Almost like an API interface to the products.

But yes, I guess I should do a lot more reading on here

You're looking at a basic white label solution of a shop but with your own header etc.

Some merchants do this. Best way is put together a business plan and get the forecasts done then start knocking on doors.

I received this email from a dropshipping company the other day called The select.

Our new retailer system provides you with a complete business website plugging you in to our advanced resources, providing you with products, distribution and service to allow you to sell the best products in the world on a website we develop for you! Our previous retailers have already started to achieve over £1000 profit in a week and the service has only been operational for a few months! Now we are providing it for NO SET UP FEE, and NOTHING TO PAY FOR 3 MONTHS! Yes you read that correctly, but this offer is not going to be available for long, in fact it is only available for a week so make the most of the FREE months service, go online and start your online business today!

It may be the kind of thing youre looking for.

The Select

Hi,

What you are looking for is dropshipping option but again there is a lot of variation in it. You need to specify which tasks you would like carry out on your website. if its a simple API then try Amazon API which would save you hassle of playing around with datafeeds from the network.

If you are looking for slightly advance option such as taking the payment on your website and then drop the order details to the third party. Virtual warehousing is another solution but again its virtually impossible to mange it all alone and not offered by all wholesalers and vendors.

As Kier mentioned, read the forum and try to understand what solution you would like to work on before start looking for APIs.

Kind Regards,

AWS looks superb, just wish the commission was slightly higher.

Still thats the sort of thing, just need to find something that sells poultry items. Might be a hard search!

Try Westfalia Mail Order on Affiliate Window. Seem to remember some farming related products, electric fencing for livestock etc.

Just had a look, Westfalia have got poultry feed troughs, drinking cups for chickens, clay eggs (bet they taste rough), plus some other gear for geese.

As you know your market I suggest doing some PPC as an affiliate, direct to merchant sites if they allow it, to give you a feel for the online market and the competition, before investing a lot of time in a big site.

I'm guessing but I reckon there will be big gaps in PPC for the farming side.

But Poker etc very competitive both in getting your site up in Google and in PPC.

PS. If you know the suppliers then Googling for '[Supplier name] affiliate scheme' or similar often tracks down a few.
