  Missing the old smilies?

Anybody else missing the old forum smilies? There are more of the new ones, but I don't think they have the same impact. I reckon the regular smiley looks more scared than happy, the winker looks like it's been poked in it and the sneaky one just looks upset.

I thought the old smilies were the best smilies I'd seen on a forum; now every time I make a post I see the old ones to select on the post icons and wish I could use them instead.

Anybody else, or am I just a sentimental fool with an irrational attachment to silly little things?? Surely it won't be long before you'll hear me pipe up in a Yorkshire accent; "Back in maaa day..."

Naah, just doesn't do it for me. Bring back the pink-faced smiley!!!

Interesting that they're still here for the 'post icons' option though.

Just need a way of shortcutting to these images. I suppose this is my chance to put together a Greasemonkey script.

OK, so who can teach me JavaScript?!?

Ben,

Seriously, its a stunning day and some of us are unfortunate enough to be stuck out our desks waiting for the weekend, yet you are on annual leave writing about Smilies on the forum....

:-)

(proper old skool)

  Re: Missing the old smilies?

hehehe. Respect for the old school.

Well, I'm sitting in the garden soaking up the glorious sunshine right now. Got me sunglasses, cold bevvy, nibbles, book and food cooking away; if you're gonna work, this is how to do it!!!
