re: Affiliates4u V3 - Help us kill the bugs & add new features

This is not a new bug from today but there's been some redirect issues for a while

EMAIL REDIRECTS:
I'm subscribed to tags in the blog section and if I receive an email with a link to the feed page it redirects to the forum home page.
Then if I click the link again in the email I arrive at the correct page

MOBILE REDIRECTS:
I have the Affiliate Marketing | Forum | Community | Blogs | News address bookmarked in Opera Mini. When I click it the first time it displays the mobile version of the forums. [Not particularly what I'm after.]
Then if I click the link again I arrive at the correct home page.

hi pete
screen corruption seems to be fixed. I can't recreate it anyway.

The login link on the /forums/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=7 page when trying to post and not being logged in still doesn't work though :-)

Otherwise looking good!

How can I change location? It still shows as Nottingham, but I can't find a way to change it to Worcestershire?

I'd only just got used to going to the front page. Even if I type in Affiliate Marketing | Forum | Community | Blogs | News if it logs be in, I get redirected to www.affiliates4u.com/forums/which can get frustrating.

This was happening before today's upgrade, just thought it worth pointing out now.
I would also second this, it's really annoying- i've got Firefox v 2.0.0.15

I'd third it... I also find when I'm backing blog posts that I end up back at the original blog page rather than a4u

this was occuring in the previous version too. When you click on the Blogs link, you get Affiliate Marketing Blogs - isn't this page supposed to be displaying all feeds? If you click on it again, then it takes you to Affiliate Marketing Blogs

re: Affiliates4u V3 - Help us kill the bugs & add new features

@purple. Hiya - we are looking at getting it to degrade into IE6 over the next few weeks. This wasn't top on our list as we were looking to push the site forward in terms of development and look and unfortunately IE6 isn't great for this. It's now fallen behind IE7 and is left for dust by Firefox in the website user percentage so we felt this was the right time to move things forward.

IE6 will still be catered for but will probably be a 'lower spec' version of the site in terms of graphics and functions.

@Hero - it calls the feeds based on your user type first. Now we have the hide post function we will probably remove this as I agree it is annoying.

@wwwb, befuddle, loquax - Nick is looking at this. Annoyingly we managed to fix the solution a little while back but upgrading the forum broke our fix. we hope to get this sorted a.s.a.p

@Pete Taylor - This is a vbullitin problem that never got sorted when we upgraded from version 1 back in May 2007. We will look into this further for you

Thanks for helping to improve the site

Pete and Nick

My company are still on windows 2000NT and IE6 but I hear they are moving all PCs over to XP this year so hopefully will get the IE up to date at same time. The joys of working for a big corporate. I agree best to get it working for the latest versions as you say ie6 is on very few pcs now.

Private Message - how you getting on with the bugs with no pre filling the person name for a PM

re: Affiliates4u V3 - Help us kill the bugs & add new features

@purple - Thats good news. We hope to have the majority of major bugs out of the way by the beginning of next week so we will be looking at the smaller ones after that which is when that PM bug will be fixed (fingers crossed).

At the moment Nick is the only developer here (I'm just the humble designer) so he has a to-do-list as long as his arm but is slowly getting through it, hence why I'm replying on his behalf.

Thanks for you help so far

Pete and Nick
