If a merchant doesn't have a PPC policy stated

Then d'you think it's OK to send traffic to their URL via PPC? I'm not even talking brand bidding here, just display/dest. url.

If the merchant hasn't stated otherwise then I see no problemo with that, when signing up with any major network they'd be asked what their policy is regarding PPC so by not mentioning any restrictions then it's reasonable to assume there are none

Re: If a merchant doesn't have a PPC policy stated

I never invest my time & money on PPC unless I have a clear green light from the merchant. Too often, merchants wait until they perceive a "problem" before announcing a PPC policy, and then the policy is often silly.

If a merchant won't give an express OK to my "direct to merchant" PPC efforts, then my practice is to invest my time elsewhere.

Hi HarveyC,

If there are any restrictions for the program, they should be stated in the t&c's. At Webgains, we classify each program's PPC policy, so affiliates can search based on whether the program has closed, open or restricted PPC.

If you are worried, I would contact the network or the affiliate manager for peace of mind.
