  SEO Work and Help Needed

Hi guys,

At the mo I place quite high on google.co.uk for a number of keywords that are of interest to me.

freebies - 4
free samples - 5
freebies uk - 2
uk freebies - 2

I really want to get to number 1 for all these keywords and I was wondering whether anyone on here offers any services where they think they could achieve this.

I'm also really interested in increasing my rank for free stuff and free stuff uk. At the mo I'm on pages 3 and 2 respectively and these are more popular keywords than the previous ones.

If you can help or have any suggestions please PM me or reply.

TIA,
Tom

  Re: SEO Work and Help Needed

Hello Tom,

!!! This is a rough review of your site i cut some of it out as it was making it to long hope it helps !!!

Your website looks nice (although i do feel there is alot of unsused space at the top.) there is a huge lack of onsite SEO - i will describe the issues below.

1. Proper Use or Any Use Of Header tags
2. Low Content Density For the Targetted Keywords
3. Lack of Bold Text being used
4. Alot of unnecessary HTML
5. invalid Markup (some big mistakes.)
6. Alt Tags should be used!

Now this is a review of your site in general, i will try talk about your keywords you want, you may not want to pay attention to points 4 and 5 as while they may not have a massive affect on search engine rankings i feel they are important.

1.
Your website from what i looked at, the frontpage in particular there is a distinct lack of header tags, by this i'm talking about h1 - for title of the page content. h2 - for sub headings & h3 tags for important text.

These header tags are standard html syntax that google absolutely loves, h1 tags provide structure to a page and show search engines what the main point of this page is, the subheadings (h2-h5) indicate titles for important content that follows.

You may want to consider a h1 tag similar to; Freebies - UK Free Samples
And various H2 tags such as; Free Sim Cards instead of the images you are using (coming back to the images shortly)

2.
You mention your trying to target such keywords as Freebies and UK Freebies, looking at your density graph (this measures your text density for a page on your site, we took this from your frontpage.)

freebies - 12 Repeats with a density of 0.61% - inorder to rank better you need to up your content that uses the word freebies, to do this i would create a section in the sidebar called freebies and write about certain freebies available using text links to go to other relevant pages on your website.

To improve density write 200-250 words on freebies, don't go too broad as you want to rank for certain freebie keywords so here we would write a paragragh with all the keyphrases that could relate to UK Freebies such as; UK Freebies, Freebies for the UK, Free Samples, Great Freebies, Freebie Offers, Freebie UK Offers, Free uk Freebies ect...

3.
Nobody seems to talk about bold text nowadays but it is important, bold a number of keywords your trying to rank for such as UK Freebies (not every mention of this on your site) i would limit it to your first paragraph of text where you ought to be mentioning your keywords and bold some variations.

I could write alot more about this but i don't think you want an essay.

4.
You have alot of html that simply is not needed such as; (taken from an inner page.) ontop of this an awful lot of javascript.

HTML Code:
  <td> </td>
          </tr>
          <tr bgcolor="#2C2C2C">
            <td> </td>

            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
          </tr>
          <tr valign="top" bgcolor="#2C2C2C">
            <td> </td>

            <td bgcolor="#2C2C2C"> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
          </tr>
          <tr bgcolor="#2C2C2C">
            <td> </td>

            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
          </tr>
          <tr valign="top" bgcolor="#2C2C2C">
            <td> </td>

            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td bgcolor="#2C2C2C"> </td>
            <td> </td>
          </tr>
          <tr bgcolor="#2C2C2C">
            <td> </td>

            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
          </tr>
          <tr bgcolor="#2C2C2C">
            <td height="49"> </td>

            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
            <td> </td>
          </tr>
          <tr bgcolor="#2C2C2C">
            <td> </td>

            <td colspan="5" class="archivetitle">More Comparison services will be listed shortly... </td>
            <td> </td>
5. Invalid markup such as the use of Unique identifiers, div id's numerous times on the same page (often 10 times +) this is where a class should be used. I won't point them out but there are many.

6. Ok this one will be hurting your se rankings, because your site headings are made of images and not text your loosing this potential to tell google they are headings and what they say. What you are doing by not using alt tags is loosing your website structure it has no flow in googles eyes as all your alt tags for images are simply "c"

For example on your free sim card image heading, you need to put an alt tag on the image stating "Free Sim Cards" this is sooooo important that your looking alot of standing in search engines.

The most important aspects you should take away are;

On site seo - h1,h2,h3 tags. Bold Main Keywords. Inner Page Linking With Good Anchor Text, Alt tags for images. Increase content density for your main keywords.

If your unsure of anything just give me a pm, im not sure if i explained it correctly but there are many things that can be improved.

Wow thanks for that. I will get onto it all.

As for the crazy HTML on other pages - i'm in the process of converting the site to CSS and when I designed the page originally I knew very little about CSS. I will definitely sort out the tables and change the IDs to Classes in places where its needed.

Make sure you do lots of tests in CSS on different browsers while you are building.
Its nasty having it all looking about right, only to find out it falls apart in one of the IE versions. Unfortunately one or two wrong moves just when you thought it was OK can throw it into a state where you can't work out what you did that stopped it working.

Validators kind of work but often not a substitute for browser testing.

Plus keep each version separate so you can go back.
Also best to put the stylesheet in the page and then move to import when you're at the final version.
