Contact MoneySupermarket for a rate card?
Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help.
I have been given the task of reasearching price comparison sites for a project through university like moneysupermarket.com to try and get an idea on the pricing level used through their 'cost per click' and cost per action'. Also i am trying to find out the costs involved for advertising on sites like moneysupermarket.com etc.
If anyone has any ideas or advice, i would be happy to hear from you
Thanks

I have contacted them but have no heard back, so whilst i was waiting, thought i would try this also
Hi ch1981,
Most big sites like MoneySupermarket will operate on a CPA basis with client's whose products they are comparing. Those deals are obviously confidential depending on the client and the product, but anywhere between a couple of pounds for travel insurance to several hundred pounds for mortgages would seem sensible. These rates are negotiable depending on the quality of the application/purchase (as actions on site are rarely the end of the story when it comes to financial products).
If you want ballpark figures, check out a few equivalent affiliate programmes that make their rates publicly available on the forum, then think of a number north of the highest figure (economies of scale mean they can negotiate much better deals than typical affiliates). It's difficult to give an accurate figure though, as the money they can charge will depend entirely on the quality of customer they are putting through to the client.
If they have any additional banner advertising on site - 'inventory' - it is likely to be sold on a CPM (Cost per Mille - thousand impressions) basis to the highest bidder, so can fluctuate depending on supply and demand. I don't really know the CPM market well but maybe £1 per thousand impressions?
Cheers
Ben

if you want to know how much they charge, you can just tell them that you would like to promote your own website etc. I think the minimum deposit is like £100 then YOU set the CPC and obviously theirs gonna be competition, the higher the CPC, the higher up your add will be placed.......
