Yup I only started to take notice of bank holidays this year as I am on placement in a 9-5 office job. When you're a student, every day is a bank holiday![]()
Ok - am I the only one that doesn't know when bank holidays are?! My wife mentioned about us going to see a friend of hers on Monday and that was the first I knew of it being a bank holiday!
I used to know when they were, and what day of the week Christmas fell on, when Easter was, etc. But since being a full time affiliate (for quite a few years now) these mean very little to me.
E.g. in a 'proper' job you want to know as it means a day off that you often plan trips away around (if only to visit family), but even if I knew now I'd still prefer to work and take a different day off instead - one of the perks of having no boss or strict hours!
I need to get a diary with all these dates in!![]()

Days of the week dont matter to me either.
Many times I think its a tuesday to have a buyer say to me "have a great weekend"
Where do the days go lol.
Its great![]()

They often catch me out too, except the last few have co-incided with code fests so after getting those live it reminds me not to go out anywhere and avoid the traffic until everyone else is back to work.

ok, first forum post... but i need to take the plunge somewhere
Do bank holidays normally signal an increase in sales, a decrease, or doesnt really make a difference?
My theory would be a drop, due to people being away from their PCs, and i did notice significantly less traffic on Saturday... but i was wandering what other peoples experiences are?
There are a shed load of bank holiday festivals in most towns so i can only assume most people will see a drop in sales due to most familes spending the weekend out and about.
