website banners - any recommendations?

Hi All

Ive bene looking through past posts and got a couple of recommendations for website header, one i chose but hasnt replied after i asked for quote

If anyone has any recommendations , it would be good to hear

Im just after say 900 x 150 pixel website headers

Is this as a logo and strapline for your own site or a banner you want to promote with on others ?

Either way 900 x 150 is tad big !!!

What are you trying to do / acheive

Ive built a site , so after a header across the top to have a few images, site name etc

im no good with photoshop

Only want something simple but effective, ive said 900 because thats how wide the site is

If noone has any ideas ile post on the digital point forum

I got a local graphics designer to do the header on my free-photo-printing.com site. I asked for a FLASH banner, but they guy also does static banners also. His portfolio is available at Paul Woodward - TheStableRoom - Freelance motion graphics and editing, Manchester, After Effects, Flash & Final Cut Pro

Tell him that I referrered you, and you'll get a special discount.

Nice attitude to have ! A4U is a growing community, and by telling people to go elsewhere for their answer is not really a good idea, especially as your answer is as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.

You have no idea whether his banner is "tad big" as you do not know what he is trying to acheive.

My advice to you is, to not bother replying if you have nothing good to add to someones post

Hi Rob,

- What's your website & the info that you want.

Depends how elaborate you want it - but I'm okay with this stuff really (not too bad anyway) and I'd throw something together for you if you like free.

Pm me the info and your idea - i'll do one or two initially and you can throw it back once or twice til we have it right - the only thing is you may have to allow about 12 hours between takes as id have to do after my proper work...

- But its free mate, and I genuinely don't mind having a go at it for you. I'm not a graphic artist but make things like this all the time for people. It would get you by until you decided something else maybe in the long term.
- All I'd ask in return is that if you ever know anyone after a site you bear us in mind.
