    Hi all

I am due to speak at Ad Tech on Thursday with a roundtable discussion on the best practise of affiliate communication.

In light of this I've had various discussions with affiliates, network staff and merchants to achieve the most efficient forms of communication to affiliates whether one to many or one to one.

To obtain some hot of the press research I'd like to poll on the most effective way you like to be communicated to whilst also I'd appreciate it if you can reply to the following questions and any anecdotal comments on the following questions...

    1. How many of you have weekly discussions with affiliate networks?
    2. How many of you have weekly discussions with your top grossing merchants?
    3. Who do you prefer to speak to networks or merchants?
    4. Do you feel you receive too much communication from all parties?
    5. Have you ever had a face-to-face meeting with a network team?
    6. Have you ever had a face-to-face meeting with your top grossing merchants?
    7. What advise would you give a network/merchant to communicate more efficiently with you?

Or please feel free to call me on 0207 003 4102 or email/IM me on chrisbishop(at)hof.co.uk

For all of those that fully answer the questions/poll by tomorrow (Wednesday) midnight, I will pick one winner and buy a gift (out of my own pocket) to the value of £50 from your favourite retailer!

The session is aimed at merchants - if anyone is interested please find the details here - ad:tech London Session - Affiliate marketing: Partnering for online success

Feel free to get in touch and thank you!

For the record I like to be contacted by messenger and if its something I feel I can make use of a follow up email ensures I don't forget.

    1. How many of you have weekly discussions with affiliate networks?
    Several daily

    2. How many of you have weekly discussions with your top grossing merchants?
    Afraid not

    3. Who do you prefer to speak to networks or merchants?
Both if they are providing me with something that is useful

    4. Do you feel you receive too much communication from all parties?
At times especially on email Friday

    5. Have you ever had a face-to-face meeting with a network team?
    Yes

    6. Have you ever had a face-to-face meeting with your top grossing merchants?
No but hopefully this can be remedied at the a4uexpo

    7. What advise would you give a network/merchant to communicate more efficiently with you?
Take a bit of time to get to know me, ask what type of things I'm concentrating on, try to speak on MSN before sending an email as if its important I will be looking out for it.

Prime example of this today from Sophia Zydenbos at Webgains, we had a little chat on messenger and she mentioned a new merchant that I had actually signed up to and forgotten about, anyway she asked the type of thing I was looking for and promptly sent something along via email. Much better than just sending me some info and hoping I get round to reading it
