I'm sorry...I just don't understand the lasting fascination with this programme. The initial car crash nature of it has just worn off now for me and it just seems to have become the manufacturing process laid bare for everyone to gawp at....

It's appeal is waning but I think that curiosity gets the better of most people.
For me, I find it compelling because watching someone fulfil their ambitions is really rather inspiring.

Rachel Hylton appeared on the first episode of the current series, back in August 2008. Her audition video has been viewed 1.2m ( yes, 1.2 million ) times already.

Ive got 4 kids and it's compulsive viewing here

my kids also perform so I guess there's a vested interest but I can assure you that interest is not waning in this programme - the viewing figures are huge.

The categories look good this year! So it should be a good one, hopefully we will see a decent singer/s come through who will last...

The only x-factor type person still around in the UK is Will Young. Leona seems to be doing well in the USA.

Cheryl Cole is definately the attraction for me

I usually watch up to the end of the auditions and then stop watching after that. The auditions are usually quite funny, but can't stand watching it after that. Even ended up watching the Xtra Factor lol, but then holly has something to do with that
