Thread: Fish4.....Nothing

Have I just found the tightest "affiliate programme" in the UK.

I quote: "There will be no payment for clicks being sent through to the fish4 site. At no point are partners within their rights to demand payment from fish4 for the referrals generated. Furthermore no reciprocal links for partners will be held on the fish4 sites."

So just exactly why should I sign up then?

To add "functionality" to my site? Opodo adds functionality to my travel website, but I don't put their banners up out of the kindness of my heart. There are other useful sites I link to, such as baa.co.uk, but that is called a link, not an affiliate programme. Fish4 don't even offer reciprocal links back!

Shall we club together and send Fish 4 a dictionary?

<blockquote><strong><em>Quote:</em></strong><hr>Auto Traders 'affiliate' programme is the same [/quote] True, but they're like the de facto standard.. it's not like no-one has heard of AutoTrader..

Wherease Fish4 NEEDS the traffic, so you would expect them to reward people for it.

    Rotten fish indeed.

Still I don't think any site has the right to free traffic, heard of or not. Everyones heard of yahoo, doesn't give them any right to ask everyone for free links.

Yahoo do have loads of free links, but that's because people have chosen to link to them.

I don't mind linking to sites which provide useful information, but if the site provides an "affiliatable" service, they should pay up. Or at least have the decency to know the difference between an affiliate programme and a "link to us" box!

Someone please send them a reply telling them how affiliate marketing works! Quite simple really, affiliates send you traffic and you pay on leads, sales or clicks generated! Hardly rocket science in fact its barely Affiliate 101! These fishy little buggers need sorting out, cheeky or what!

why don't we ALL send them an email..?

    would be fun <img src=http://www.gamers-forums.com/smilies/contrib/blackeye/evil_laughter.gif ALT="|I">

Just a general one with a we found your site today but were dismayed to note you haven't grasped the concept of affiliate marketing, well I generate over £XXXXXX pounds per year in revenue for my partners and i would like to generate some for you but you appear to only want to deal with 2bit website owners who don't want to make a living off the net but are happy to have a floundering logo on their site...etc...

would be nice if they got up to about 200 of them in the morning wouldn't it.. lol.. I am sure our combined revenue generation in here would rival a very large high street name company's turnover!?

bout time we got the Affiliate Association fire going again...

    Bosh that's priceless.

Let me get this straight, for every 50 confirmed sales I make they will send me a princely £25 credit note for mobile phone accessories! That's money for nothing!

    Where do I sign up?

well I suppose a £25 mia voucher beats the £1000 you would have earned with a decent affiliate scheme then..

altho it still counts on cancelled orders or dodgy cards...

    how ermmm compasionate of them..<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

scary thing is there will be people pusing it totally unaware that they are being totally shafted by them <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">
