Been considering expanding the team (cough) to get more/better sites live sooner and to manage QC. But how many people work on your sites?

I would buy replacements for all the folk that work with me and many of the folk I know here.. as long as I got a percentage of what they earn LOL

    Interesting results.

With so many people in "one man bands" I would advise people to look for residual income opportunities to protect themselves from long term disaster of websites being overtaken by newbies getting better at SEO and the ever growing competition in the SEO market, with ever fewer "top 10" places to get listed in.

People need to look at leveraging their efforts with "indirect employees" as recommended by such books as "Rich dad, poor dad" from Amazon. (A thoroughly good read and it will probably open your eyes incredible ideas what 90% of people can't see in their everyday lives).

I work on my own but earn an income from hundreds of other people's efforts. I have struggled for quite some time trying to work out if it is ethical the benefit from other people's efforts then it dawned on me that that is precisely what almost everyone in employement does - give their effort and time to the reward of the business owners. The only way you can get true financial freedom for you and your family is:

    1) Own your own business - you will never get rich working for someone else

    2) "employ" people to multiply your own efforts. The best way to "employ" people is to pay them purely on commission for sales generated.

    That's my 2pennies worth!

I offered my sister-in-law to teach her what to do and help her get real rankings so she could make good cash part time.. know what she said, "na, not interested as then I wouldn't have time to go out with my friends".. is it just me that thinks you don't need to go out every night LOL

Least her older sister who I am married to is taken all the free advice and help she can get to launch her web business.

Well it is me and someone who puts my ideas into pratice on the sites etc. Actually i find it really frustrating having to relay ideas that I could do myself if I had the knowledge, but it leaves me time to promote offline stuff so it is a good match really. There are a couple of people in the office who have 'great ideas' but have never actually used the web for anything, they are the most frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well its just me before - but more recently my hubby got very interested when I would run downstairs telling him I made a 50% return on my money by pay per click.

He is in the process of moving all our sites that are on a management system - into our own template that he made!

This means we are not stuck with ridged rules and how many key words we can put in the box - and also not have bits of code in it for someone elses work.

We work as a "team" no decisions made wthout the other - but we let each other "get on with it" so that we have our seperate jobs - as we both do it full time at home!

I have tried to show other people how to do it in the past - and they let me walk them through the whole process - say "thats nice I should have a go" then never do any thing - so guess what - I DONT BOTHER now!

Also since I got some - what I conciderto be "insider secrets" I am not telling anyone what I do!

I am getting a 2 meg line soon!!!!!! yippppeeee we use regular bradband at the mo - but its still too slow!

i started out working with m8's for free to set up a site. BIG MISTAKE as I want to sack both my m8's as they dont do any work and cant take criticism if they do.

I want to keep the 4 new editors I found whose work is truly stunning making our site one of the best in its league.

So how do I sack em?

Moral of my story: never mix business up with your m8's
