AOL Email Test, anyone!

Hi, I want to do a simple test with anyone that has an AOL account.

I want to send you an email with a couple of sets of figures and numbers in it and see what happens to them.

£9.99
£ 9.99

I know sounds basic but I am told AOL don't decode the emails correctly so £9.99 ends up looking like .99, this could be a huge problem for people quoting a price in a email that goes to AOL people.

It was fine, so must be more to it. Looks like I will need to get AOL on a machine and start trying out loads of tests to get to the bottom of the prices changing for some customers, each being AOL users.

It could be AOL version related. I tested it on 8.0, but AOL don't force you to upgrade, so there will be people running on 7.0 or even older versions. Then you've also got versions for the Mac as well.

Might be worth asking the person who raised the problem what set up they've got and also whether they check the email on AOL itself or the webmail.

And another thought - the email you sent me was plain text, is your newsletter HTML?

If you want to send me the mail as HTML I'll see if that makes any difference.

It was a plan text newsletter that had the issue, not going to be sent again until next week but might ask if I can sign you up for a test then see what you get (I have not ruled out something I am doing yet as it might very well be).
