I use Import CSV by Jason Hulott (I think he hangs around here sometimes.) I'm quite non-techy but have found it very easy to use.

I like the CSV to wordpress script from matboo.co.uk (no aff)

If you know your way around PHP it's pretty good for building a price comparison site from as well.

Mtaboo, was really helpful when i first got it, but you need an uptodate php (being totally non-techy i have no idea about this kind of thing)

    Re: Wordpress and product feeds

Well if you're looking for a product feed solution for WordPress, may we recommend our own service datafeedr.com for building affiliate datafeed stores on WordPress?

CJ, Shareasale, Netshops, Linkshare, Bridaluxe and Clickbank merchants are available to choose from. Though most of the available merchants right now are USA/Canada based, soon merchants from UK and AU affiliate networks will become available too.

To get an idea about how a shop is created with Datafeedr feel free to watch video below...

    Thanks DataFeedR

Just one quick question - does your plugin come with search support?

By that I mean if I'm uploading several hundred products into various categories, is it possible for a user to enter a search term into a form and be taken directly to that product.

    Thanks very much,

    Re: Wordpress and product feeds

I've used Datafeedr and whilst I think it's good, the merchants they use are very US focussed. I know they are trying to work with Affiliate Window in the UK to resolve this but you are limited to working with merchants & networks that they have relationships with.

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. PM me if you want me to offer you more info.

Yes, it does. The plugin comes with several store widgets that you can add in your sidebar. One of the widgets is a search form field that allows visitors to search the store pages. ~Stefan

Hey, gadget good to see you here Yes, you're right. At this time mainly US/Canada based merchants are available. But we have some good news for UK affiliates. We just closed an agreement with Affiliate Window, one of the leading UK affiliate networks.

Right now we're busy with integrating ALL Affiliate Windows datafeeds into our system. When integration is done over 500 UK merchants will be available for our members. Expected: 2nd half November. We'll try to add other UK networks too in the near future. If any suggestions let us know.

If you have any questions feel free to ask...

    Thanks, Stefan

    PS.
I have some good news for you. We closed yesterday an agreement with AffiliateFuture. That means another important UK affiliate network will be integrated into Datafeedr. Expected release date: 2nd half of November.

    Hi gadget,

As of today all Affiliate Window (total 489) and all AffiliateFuture merchants (69) are NOW available in Datafeedr. That is 558 new UK merchants available for Datafeedr members to build WP affiliate stores with. In negotiation Buy.at!

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

    Thanks, Stefan

    Re: Wordpress and product feeds

I do think datafeedr is a good solution and as their posts on this thread show, they are fast adding UK merchants via their partnerships with UK networks.

However, I'd prefer to have a system where there is a one-off fee (it currently costs from $27 per month) and then I add my own feeds.

    An alternative is Price Tapestry.

    Re: Wordpress and product feeds

This is the best free way to import csv to wordpress that I know of:

Zack Preble’s CSV Import: Importing Posts from CSV file into WordpressbyZack Preble

It allows you to import custom fields, which means you can add potentially limitless information to the posts. The mattboo script above is limited to just name, price, etc.
