Big changes for Google, no more premium sponsorship, changes to adwords:
In one respect, larger marketers have had it easy since 1999. Premium sponsorships locked in positions for months at a time. For better or worse, marketers and their agencies were able to fill out insertion orders and then relax and watch the campaign with positions locked in. Google now plans on eliminating the premium sponsorships and running all inventory using the famous AdWords algorithm.

Does that mean we're finally going to lose the "ENTERANYKEYWORDYOULIKE - Find it on eBay!" ads?
I do hope so John! That's the one thing, for me, that really downgrades google's service. It, frankly, looks cheap, nasty and tacky![]()
Had to pop down to london for a couple of days so got the tv tuned to CNBC and there was nice segment on Google. It was saying that many of the changes they've recently made to their infrastructure and accounts system (nb VAT on adwords) are making the company compliant with some rules that you have to complient with if you're having an IPO.
This doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna have one anytime soon, but it's all a bit fishy.
