888 Poker Commission Refusal
Over the last couple of months I've been talking to Affiliate Window about a transaction that I think I should have been credited for. The 888.com programme t&c's states:
and now after 3 months of chasing the commission and being told "I'll contact you when I have more information" I have now got the following:888.com will not pay commissions in relation new players who are either incentivized to become new players or who act fraudulently or dishonestly with 888.com.
I'm confused as to why and I'm not willing to accept that 888 can get away with not paying a commission without having to provide any more information. I gave all of the details about the transaction to AW on 17/09/08. This is one of the very few transactions I have any information about and as such it makes me angry that the commission is not being applied. I would have thought that Affiliate Window would take a stronger view and try to at least get a reason from 888.com as to why the commission is not being paid. The transaction was declined because our system recognized a pattern of fraud in the player’s behavior, which goes against the company’s Ts & Cs.
I wouldn't have a problem if the commission was reversed because of some dodgy activity where 888.com would lose out, but in this particular case I actually know the person why signed up. There was no incentive for them to join, but I referred them through a link to 888.com. As far as I'm concerned, this is just as legitamat as me referring visitors who are completly unknown to me through other channels. The difference is that unlike a visitor I don't know, I am sure they didn't just deposit the money and withdraw it again and they have been using the site.
If refering visitors known by the affiliate is considered fraud, I believe the t&c's should be updated to reflect this (although I see no way this makes sense). If this is allowed, I think that 888.com should pay the commission or give me an acceptable reason as to why it isn't being paid.
I am a member of multiple poker leagues and sometimes wish to play the odd game online against the people I know. I don't understand how I am not eligable for commission for refering them to a particular site? I know Full Tilt actively encourage this.
Any response from 888.com or Affiliate Window would be much appreciated,
Mike
