I would have thought this was a good thing in SEO as its more relevent and concise. But I'm no real expert at SEO.
Posting this in here as well as SEO forum as I am ready to launch this site apart from this one issue... please help!!
I am just about to launch a new version of a site and am going to change the URL structure. The 301 redirects are in place from old URLs to new, I have a question related to keywords in the URL though...
I was going to have region based URLs (country, region, city) all operating under the 'place' keyword, i.e.
domain.com/place/Edinburgh-hotels-5677.html
But nobody is going to search for the word 'place' so its a wasted word. Instead I am thinking of using a keyword that people search for, e.g.
domain.com/book/Edinburgh-hotels-5677.html
domain.com/find/Edinburgh-hotels-5677.html
domain.com/reserve/Edinburgh-hotels-5677.html
Could this be bad in anyway? Maybe SEs consider it spamming...?
Thanks
Ben

I think it's OK but what's the -5677 in aid of?
It's the ID for Edinburgh...
To be honest it looks good to me and I do a bit of work as an SEO.

Quick bump to see if anyone can think of anything negative against the URLs being like this???
domain.com/book/Edinburgh-hotels-5677.html
Thanks
Ben
