Dmoz can take from 6 months to 2 years to get included (if at all)

I've seen a few people mention Gumtree before. Where are you listing your sites? In the services section?

I'm not sure how it works. Guidance appreciated.

    Thanks

Dmoz isn't dead at all. I submitted a site a few months back for a bricks and mortar company, it was indexed about a month later and saw a PR jump from 1 to 3 a couple of weeks ago. Yep PR is bull but as a result the site is now ranking 1st position in Google for almost every single keyword we optimised it for. 100% thanks to dmoz's weighting.

For us, I've found our keyword optimised domains get indexed and on the first page within a couple of weeks for searches with the keyword in the domain, all this depends of competition in the search results of course.

Does posting a link in your signature on this forum really help you get indexed quicker?

There is a nifty trick to make this work effectively. Don't post it in your signature and then post on someone elses post (as the google spider will prob have already visited that page)

Create a new topic of your own (not spam of course) and include it on that signature. This way, the spider will come to that page as it is new content, and then follow your link too

    Hope it helps :tup

Just get a site with lots of traffic to post a link high up on their homepage. Ok I know its not that easy and I am not suggesting you pay for it but its worth the effort.

Better still you should be the owner of one of these sites. My new sites are always indexed within hours now.
