Redirect to Merchant Site

Hi this may seem a very silly question but i'm still quite new to all this and wondered if you are 'allowed' to use a domain to do a 301 with htaccess to a merchant site?

I was going to advertise a spare domain of mine that would redirect to a merchants site and if the visitor signs up i can earn commission. Would this be ok ?

You would probably be better off contacting the merchant in question. I can't see anything wrong with it in practice provided your not trying to do something dubious like eg. You have registered a merchants mispelled domain name.

Thanks for the welcome. No i havent registered a mispelt domain or anything like that. I'm not sure if I do a redirection if my affiliate tracking link would work anyway, does anybody know please x

It will track no problems using a 301 redirect.
