I’ve been developing a new site over the last couple of weeks and I’ve published the sites home page so I could use some online seo tools.
I know a lot of people consider Google’s page rank to be of no importance anymore, but should I feel good about the page getting a page rank 0 this early on even though half the internal links on the page don’t point anywhere and I haven’t started link building for it yet?

Yep I have had a site go to PR0 today which was only build and indexed last tuesdaystill you should be feeling good
Never look down on someone unless you are helping them up. Fwitter
Pagerank obviously has some importance otherwise google would do away with it, its just that it should not become a major focus.
But ive often read of webmasters going hard and fast building backlinks and being disappointed with the results.
While some have spoken of only getting 3 or 4 backlinks and barely doing anything and getting a decent pagerank.
I'm baffled. You're chuffed about getting a PR0????
PR is utterly pointless. What counts is how well or not your site is ranked in the serps. Forget about PR and concentrate on getting your site ranked well for your terms.

I beg to differ with some but PR is worth quite a bit in reality if you sell links to those that seem to think that it is worth something. :tup
OK if the only point of creating a website is to gain good PR so you can sell links then good luck to you. Especially if you get banned from Google for doing so.
I prefer to build sites that rank well for my chosen terms and then bring in visitors which I can then monetise.
