Easy Content Units is actually very helpful in that regard.
When you are adding products to the unit, it will attempt to resolve the prod URL to the vendor domain. If it doesn't it will flag up a suggestion that you may not be signed up.
I'm new to the game so have only applied to a few 'networks' (e.g. CJ) and then a few 'merchants' (eg Boots) using that 'network'.
I've started a spreadsheet but its getting quite big.
How do you keep track of who you have joined?
I've had a go at using EasyContentunits.com which I find really good but when doing a product search I find it hard to know if the results returned are from merchants I have joined. I know you can select who to return results from but again, you need to know who to select.
I guess using just one merchant is going to be easer but if you want a broader range of products this isnt an option.
How do you keep track?
Thanks.

Hiya mate, Glad you're liking ECU
When you add the products to your unit, we check the URL resolves for you - if not, then there's a good chance you've not joined the merchant. So we give you a little warning message that you may not have joined that particular merchant.
Give me a shout, either via ECU or on here if you need anything..
Cheers,
John

AM is a bit like slalom sking - you soon memorise the gates!
Perhaps we should have Affiliate Mastermind - my specialised subject is "which fashion merchants are on which networks" :tup
Andrew Clapham - Fashion Blogger.
I like the slalom analogy, made me smile.
Yes, the RAP across the knuckles when you hit a post is an excellent memory jogger not to do it again!!!
Reminds me of an old French teacher who used to rap pupils over the knuckles with a ruler on which he had engraved the word 'catalyst' !!!!
HI Ho heads down again
john
I gave up trying to track it years ago - click and join and then when I need a new merchant then log in to find out who I joined and then decide who is next.
I still use a spreadsheet, when I remember to. But the truth is I don't promote a lrge number of products. I have a bunch and concentrate on making different campaigns for these few
I suppose that's why I can use a spreadsheet without it getting too large
I don't keep records of what merchants I'm affilaited with, I just login to the networks I'm signed up with and check whenever I'm looking... only takes a couple of mins...
I am now trying to keep a record on a database. Not of merchants I have joined but what merchants I put on what site(s). This is just so that when a merchant is closed I know where to remove them from!
I bet you do a lot of that
I keep a spreadsheet too with around 700 merchants on it 350 of which have either pulled out or chucked me off. It's gotten so bad lately that I don't really bother to update it now and I just check on the aff site.
I'm in the process of narrowing my sites down to niche products and concentrating on appropriate merchants. Then I can have a spreadsheet bonfire.
I was making a unit with about nine items.
It flagged up one in red and suggested there was a problem for one item even though I had two items from that company (the other wasnt flagged) also another company I have not joined was not flagged.
I think it might be down at the moment though?
Hi Seamaster,
Apologies for the delay in replying to this thread - was all hands to the pump last night, and midwife appointment this morning!
We were re-building the product table to implement a new search feature last night - This did cause some intermittent problems with units, which we managed to resolve swiftly last night.
The way the warning system works is by checking your affiliate link resolves. This means you may get incorrect warnings for the following reasons:
1. The affiliate link for a merchant you HAVE joined doesn't work - Either the network is having issues, or the deeplink url specified by the merchant is incorrect.
or
2. The affiliate link for a merchant you HAVEN'T joined still goes through to the merchants site - in this case, it wouldn't be flagged as an error.
Hope that helps!

Hi John,
I have just tried to get into my content units and they won't load. Is the site still being updated?
Thanks.
