You were the one that brought googlebot into it, all Lawcom said was "Google".
And as you were asking Lawcom what they meant, I gave my opinion on what I thought.

I'd disagree with that.. Google is not interested in how it is, just what it is, if the content is unique, if people show interest in it, then google bot will like you, regardless of the template you use...

attention to detail is VITAL in this business, in my experience.

Also, I'd hardly call it 'jumping down someone's throat'. I'm just trying to get him to clarify what he means, in case he actually has a new idea that might be of use to us.

You might want to think a little before posting in future.

I've came across discussions of google take into account bounce rates:

Search for your keyword, you visit the first result, it isn't relevant to your keyword so you leave back to your search, go to the next result has relevant content so you stay there longer.

I know this is a few back, but still wanted to comment on this one. First, thanks for the reference Got a few hits, and I hope you all enjoyed the article.

The bounce rate perdiciment is an often held one, especially in SEO channels/forums. Personally I believe there's enough proof that it works based on the post over at SEOBlackhat.com (Confirmed: Bounce Rate is A Search Engine Ranking Factor) especially by the URL's you'll see in Goog's SERP pages when you're not associated with a Google account - which references to the position of the result you're going to click on, etc. As well as the cookie changes every time you view the page for timestamp as well as searched term.
