Well yes I realise that eh ... :laugh
If company contributes data, who's going to see it, what will they see, what are they allowed to do with it?
Will contributors get to see data from other contributors? If so, what?
matt at Holiday Wizard
Tehe. Sorry Mate. That was a bit limited in terms of responses!!!
Basically, the list is ordered in terms of revenue, so Revenue will be visible to others. We will also be ranking companies by revenue in their primary sectors (loyalty, ppc, etc).
Whilst the turnover figures might not want to be published by some, they are available within companies house and so is in the public domain.
Creating an insight into how well the relevant companies are performing means other questions such as staff members, date founded etc are all relevant for understanding this size of the companies, not just by turnover.
With the most respected companies / individuals, it is a great way of seeing who is helping and encouraging the space to grow and prosper.
Hope that's a little more insight??![]()

Will the survey results be published publicly for free? Or will they be available to paying subscribers only? Or kept "private" to use as the survey compiler sees fit?
Gotta ask as I don't see it stated anywhere.
(Sure, financial info is available for a quid a go from CoHse for incorporated businesses, tho not for sole traders I believe.)

As far as I know so far company, date founded, number of employees and turnover will be listed. I'll firm this up for you and let you know in a couple of hours.

The survey results will be open to everyone and we will be publishing turnover figures alongside other aspects such as employee numbers, date founded and verticals used within affiliate marketing.
This will be the first time anyone has attempted to see who's performing within affiliate marketing by channel which I strongly believe will benefit those that partake in the survey and the industry as a whole.
Most of the information can be found within the public domain, though we'd prefer to ask everyone first as an opt-in research study.
I hope this will become an annual survey that will eventually encompass other variables.
Will you be issuing ego badges for people's company websites a la hitwise ?
If people want them - then sure, why not?
Should we not celebrate the fact that Affiliate Marketing is starting to take more of the digital pie and recognise the individuals and companies who are helping to achieve this?
Is turnover available from Companies House... small company audited accounts don't show it afaik (at least not on the £1 downloads).Whilst the turnover figures might not want to be published by some, they are available within companies house and so is in the public domain
Jason
I think you've been pretty short sighted by assuming that Companies House will have all the info you need for verification - what about all the offshore operations like the gaming/casino sector to name but one?

Michael,
We're only talking about Publishers / Affiliates and yes, I'm sure some are based offshore, but we're hoping people will embrace the survey in an honest and transparent way.
if anyone has any suggestions, more than happy to take them onboard.
Does 'number of employees' include semi-permamnent freelancers, or is it just PAYE registered members of staff
Good question Ian, It should be staff on the permanent payroll.
