    I just wondered what peoples thoughts were to including a testimonial for network(s) they prefer to work with in their email signature when replying to merchants.

    Different affiliates have differing relationships with various networks, but some networks in an affiliates individual opinion are simply so poor that using colloquial expletives is really the only way to describe their service, when the override alone from some invidual affiliates can cover several peoples jobs within a network.

    Since some networks are selective about affiliates they exclusively work with - does this work both ways & therefore should we be promoting our preferred partners (networks) like they promote their favourite affiliates to their merchants ... or will it antagonise still further or is there a potential for a revenue stream for ad placement within the email reply?

    * There are a number of programs we would promote more vigourously if they were on an alternate network.

    * If a network doesn't look after you then you should look after your own, consolidate the strong bonds & relinquish the weaker ones.

    Personally, if its a merchant I want to work with I will often ask them if they are with a particular network whom I favour. If the response is no, then I will bite the bullet and work with the network I am least impressed by, but it would never stop me from working with a particular network.

    I wouldn't add a sig in my emails for two reasons;
    - there are a small number of networks I like all the time, otherwise my mood changes depending on what day of the month it is
    - what if I did, and the merchant went to that network, would I then receive a referral bounty?

    I do on occasions chat to merchants at G2G where I voice my preferrence over my networks, but I am not sure if its of benefit to the merchant. For everyone time I recommend Network A over Network B, there will be another affiliate with the complete opposite idea as myself.

    There are affiliate networks most affiliates have a consensus about that treat us with respect and operate efficiently. Whenever possible I and other affiliates recommend those networks.

    I hope it leads to other affiliate networks, those who are not recommended so often, having a look at their operations to see what they can do better.

    You say most affiliates there Nadeem, there is one network I wouldn't recommend to anyone, but, many affiliates rate it as one of, if not the best. Everyone has a preference, but as Frostie says that can change with what day of the month it is.

    Someone could say that Network X is the bees knees but somebody, somewhere wil have had issues with that network at some point. No Network ticks every box all of the time! Then again neither do affiliates.

    Good and bad everywhere.

    Hahahaaa

    Guess what, I have just been speaking to merchant and found they are only represented on 1 Network, and the network is the one I would least likely to choose

    As I said earlier, it won't stop me promoting the merchant, but I have MSN'd the merchant and made clear my feelings about this one particular network. Here's hoping they will appear on another in the not to distant future.
