Basically they need to be sure that the leads you are generating are not just spam leads which would then upset the merchant. They have a duty to see how you are doing it, if it is obvious then they will work it out for themselves but if you are generating leads that just could be generated from a bad landing page or something then they would want to know how exactly you are doing it to decide if you can continue.

I personally would not tell a single network member of staff how i am doing anything, im not here to show some poorly paid staff member how to business themselves. But then most networks would already know we only do clean business anyway so probably would not ask.

Its a hurdle thats all, if you havent done anything wrong then be honest and dont get worried.
    Nothing to see here...

CJ's Network Quality often mistakes too. And in typical CJ fashion, you will not get apologies or admittance of errors. It really is a Kangeroo Court with them, any problem with one merchant & they jeopardise your whole account rather than place the relationship with one merchant on hold.

You've got to play it firm & be truly committed to going legal if necessary if they don't listen or believe you. If you haven't done anything wrong & it ever goes legal, let me know. I have a several things we can use as samples in your defence.

btw did you get an email about having to remove any reference about merchant from your site, even if you deactivate the relationship it then is legally no jurisdiction of CJ .. Yet CJ demand that the page cannot be found in search engines & immediately removed from the cache from any search engines... go figure.

Also they'll accuse you of owning domains you don't & things like that .. the list goes on.

Answer through the ticketing system & hold the number & copies of any communication, also send an email to them & everybody elses email you have available at the CJ UK office by CC'ing anyone & everyone including the merchant .. though we are yet to ever receive a reply through their mailing system on the CJ mailing interface.

Your best port of call is through the UK office, off the record they know there are problems & even people within associated branches of the company know there is with CJ, on the record they'll never admit it. But hopefully they might be able to resolve it easily from their end, though the 7 or 8 hour time difference can delay communications between the UK & USA.

The problems are predominantly on the CJ USA side, the UK Office is merely a puppet & until ALL the technology & decision making is completely moved over to the UK, they will continue to be a poor network.

Basically they accuse you first & assume you are Guilty .. a bit like the US Government.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

In response to Qui Gon Jinn no, I haven't ever received an email asking me to remove a reference to a merchant from my site. I have never been declined by a merchant or had a relationship with a merchant ended. I have never been warned for breaking programme rules or agreements, as I read everything carefully before signing my life (and wallet) away! That's why I was so shocked to find this email sat in my inbox this morning.

I've emailed back asking CJ to elaborate and explain their reasoning, but haven't had a response - probably due to the time difference. It's upsetting that as soon as I start to earn some decent money through a network, this sort of thing starts happening.

Try the UK office. May I ask which merchant it is? If you'd rather not, i'll understand.

I don't know which merchant it is!! The only communication I have received is the email above.

The address it's come from is "Commission Junction [cj_networkquality@cj.com]" - which holds no clues either.

It's all a bit of a mystery to me...

    Isn't that just Priceless.

I hope you manage to get it sorted out, but do try the UK office.

It's all a bit of a farce really - other people who I've spoken to about it agree too.

Thanks once again for the advice - I'll try the UK office - and post again when I've got a (hopefully positive) result.

When you send emails & call all the different departments either side of the atlantic, hopefully at some point their heads will meet to form a log cabin ... unfortunately it's the "same old story".

Have you noticed the original email communication has been removed from the beginning of this CJ thread, were you told to remove it?

Email Removed for Privacy Reasons - problem now being sorted.
Hopefully this will be resolved now to your satisfaction & the thread acheived it's objective, though I received an interesting PM from CJ.

I was contacted by two helpful CJ representatives as a result of this thread. I wasn't told to remove the email, but having read the bottom of the email - "disclosure, transfer and copying of all or part of this work are prohibited", thought it would be safer to get rid of it.

Have now received an email back from Network Quality, who say someone from my IP has clicked on my PriceRunner links - most likely the family browsing the site on the family computer.

So overall not too much of a problem - have told them they can remove the £0.31 in commission from PriceRunner if they wish...

I had a similar experience a while ago- Out of the blue I got an email saying I am booted for generating fake leads and I just couldnt figure out what it was about as such I wasn't doing any lead based business or rather nothing much at all. I sent a few emails to their "network quality" team to get some blunt reply like "you are not eligible to get a reply"

I called up the UK office a couple of times and felt like banging against the wall...and ever since moved into pastures green....

I would have gracefully accepted if they had given an explanation as to what was wrong exactly.

How on earth could you sleep in peace if they owe you( your hard earned) money! So better stay away!

    Hi ksanjitha,

Sorry to hear about your experience. It's the worst feeling to wake up in the morning to see something like that in your inbox - at least I've managed to get an explanation now as to exactly what's gone wrong.

If I could I'd be tempted to shove CJ after this escapade, and find the merchants I'm with on other networks, but unfortunately (or fortunately) I've got some well performing programmes and merchants on CJ which are on no other network. This is the first real negative experience I've had with CJ as well, so I think I'll stick around for the time being at least.
