The UK Affiliate Marketing sector is set to get its very own industry specific Conference, Exhibition and Awards with the launch of a4uexpo in October.

The two day event, which will take place at ExCeL London from October 25 – 26, is being co-ordinated by affiliates4u, founders of the widely-respected a4uForum, the UK’s No.1 portal for Affiliate Marketing.

Building on a4uForum’s successful series of Networking events, a4uexpo will provide a more structured and formal educational Conference programme as well as a carefully-selected Exhibition and dedicated Awards Ceremony.

Matthew Wood, founder of affiliates4u, says: “a4uForum has been part of the Affiliate Marketing scene for the past seven years and has been a pivotal part of the sector, providing a focal point for affiliates to meet, share experience and do business together.”

“During this time, the industry has also seen significant development & growth and now worth over £2bn, it is absolutely the right time for this channel to have its very own professional, educational event.”

a4uexpo will represent the only UK-based affiliate specific event and aims to bring together all those working in or around the sector in a professional environment to hear about & debate the key issues currently facing the channel. A full Conference programme will run over both days, with a collection of top speakers working across the sector, as well as specific Workshop sessions.

The a4uexpo Exhibition will run alongside the Conference programme with 50 relevant businesses having the opportunity to showcase their services, and on the evening of October 25, a4uexpo will also hold its own inaugural Affiliate Awards which will spotlight the very best Affiliates, Agencies, Networks, Suppliers and most importantly, the innovation currently found in the sector at present.

Matthew adds: “The a4uexpo Awards won’t be token gestures. These Awards will be driven by nominations from those working in the industry and therefore will be a true reflection of the best in the business, the visionary thinking and the expertise & knowledge found out there.”

Attendance at a4uexpo will include access to all of the Conference and Workshop sessions, the Exhibition and Awards Ceremony, as well as complimentary refreshments and lunches on both days. Those interesting in attending should register via www.a4uexpo.com.

Matthew concludes: “a4uexpo will be a platform to inform, educate and inspire. Our aim is to provide the industry with its very own event, hence the tagline ‘It’s your industry, get involved!’. We want to achieve a visionary and inspirational ambience with structured and informal networking, business dealing and fun. But most importantly, we also hope that this event will act to raise the profile of Affiliate Marketing in general.”

We are really excited to be launching a4uexpo today; it’s been a long time in the planning!

We very much would like the whole industry to ‘get involved’ with the conference & exhibition and are inviting feedback on the new a4uexpo blog, but also on this forum about what you would like to see at the event! After all the two days worth of content will be designed for you!

For example; what speakers would interest you? What workshop topics would you like to see? Would you like to be involved in a panel discussion?

The event will continually evolve, so we invite you to check out our blog and also to register for updates so we can keep you informed on what’s happening.

Great stuff Matt - congratulations on getting this off the ground

    This sounds excellent.

When will you be providing details to potential exhibitors etc?

Thanks for your support We are all really excited about the conference. It's not often we get the opportunity to shout out to the wider audience how great affiliate marketing is!

    Dave,

At this stage we are kindly asking that interested exhibitors leave their details through the form on this page.

Exhibitor information packs will then be sent out as soon as they have been finalised. Limited stands are available and they will be dealt with on an added value basis.

If you have any questions please contact our Events Manager, Claire Hoyland on 01179 723269.

    Kind Regards,
    Matthew.

Nice One Matt... good to see your plans coming to fruition

Very much looking forward to it, I for one have been fed up of wandering around TFM, adtech etc.. trying to find the relevant stands to our industry so the thought of a UK focussed affiliate expo is very nice indeed.

I think most people underestimate the complexity and sheer logistical nightmare that is involved in getting something like this put together, it's a mammoth task and one that is a potential money loser right up to the wire so I think Matt definitely deserves a nod of respect and our support for taking the risk.

With that in mind I hope everyone, affiliates, merchants, networks, agencies etc... will get down or book a stand where relevant and support the very first one so it's a big success and we can have our own industry focussed event which we can all benefit from every year if not more often

Many congratulations to the team, I bumped into Matt at SES taking photos of the venue and went away from the event feeling that its an ideal venue for such a happening - I've got really high expectations of this event now and know that you'll be able to pull off something really special.

As we're getting involved heres some workshop/session ideas.

Streaming works - basic, advanced and issues based streams would make sense.

    Basic
    1) How do I use direct to merchant PPC
    2) SEO - how do I start
    3) The network difference - how do networks add value - what tools do they offer
    4) Datafeeds, basic principles and best practice (both merchant and affiliate)
    5) How do I launch an affiliate program
    6) E-mail marketing - building a list, communicating

    Advanced
    1) Shopping comparison, how can I use datafeeds to add value to users
    2) User data - laws, legislation and best practice
    3) Advanced PPC tactics - from ad scheduling to demographic targetting
    4) Web 2.0 - how can I tap into a community and monetise it
    5) Business basics, taxation, insurance, employing staff etc
    6) Dynamic creative, add value to your affiliates through clever creative
    7) How do I manage my affiliate base

    Issues
    1) Brand-name-bidding - incremental sales or competing with your partners
    2) Cashback, money for nothing or clicks for free (best title ever)
    3) Barriers to industry growth
    4) UK versus world - what makes our unique environment special, how does it compare to the US/international market
    5) Tracking, beyond the cookie - AJAX issues etc

Just a few for now - I'm sure there are many more.
