Brilliant idea - again, a bit too much like innovation for a network though
I think they're all just waiting to be bought
Do any of the networks offer xml feeds for discount codes which we would gladly offer prominence on our sites?
I don't want to mudanely add & delete individually by hunting around, but one solid reliable feed.

Come on don't be so cynical!![]()
Webgains was bought last year and in fact we have recently started offering a Vouchers and Offers RSS feed through our blog. The link is:
Webgains Blog » Vouchers, offers and promotions
While you're at it check out the blog post about another new product we've just launched, the iSense Ad Creator
Keir your blog RSS would be perfect IF it contained URL for merchant (in a format where the affiliate ID can be easily substituted) and it just had the bumf about the offer - no referance to affiliates or networks
Follow Me | Looking for Merchants Who Do Scifi Stuff
Thanks for the feedback. So if we got rid of any mention of networks and affiliates and added say an affiliate link to each post like this:
http://track.webgains.com/click.html?wgcampaignid=[YOURID]&wgprogramid=245
Would that work? If so I can do it now.
Brilliant suggestion, we'll put a request to our dev team.
Kier recently added more categories in the blog to categorise the merchants & the offers in their relevant verticals, as suggested by Lee McCoy.
We try to cover as much as possible when we launch a tool, but we're only human after all....So keep giving us your suggestions, please

If many sites implemented this code feed would duplicate content issues kick in?
Also, when you perform searches currently, the new Webgains blog dominates Google. As an example search for "Cloggs discount code". The Webgains blog and code is there to see, potentially attracting the same visitors that us affiliates are targeting.
Kier, does your analytics show any shoppers looking for codes hitting your blog? If so, does it have to be so SEO friendly?![]()
Hi Ray,
Naturally if you automated the feed then duplicate content may become an issue. As such it would be best to rewrite content yourself wherever possible but for those who do not have the time or inclination I think this could be useful.
Thanks for bringing the issue to our attention about our posts appearing in the SERPS, I'll see what we can do about it.
Cheersgood idea

Cheers for the heads up Barry I'll get Hero to check it out.
So thats a YAY to Webgains then - consider my faith partially restored (for a day or so!)

Whoah there Hero, not lost faith in Webgains (you're firmly in the good guys camp at the moment with Awin and POR) just felt the weight of stagnation for the past, ummmmmmmm, FIVE YEARS. And partially because network innovation simply doesn't move quick enough when you consider that its that innovation that is its key component in the supply chain (imho).
Still, you guys are rocking at the moment - so don't take it personally - I just tire of the same old problems and the same old lack of foresight
