I am new to this site (just discovered it this week, but already think it's great) so my opinion may be somewhat irrelevant. However I agree very strongly with this comment.

I own 2 large forum/community based sites on the side. One has a user base of 10,000 members with around 1500 active posters and the other is around 16,000 with 5000 active posters. One thing I've learned is that lots of people just want something to read And if you start forcing people to post you are just going to get garbage content on your site and what good does that bring the sites community?

Let them lurk from the shadows.. who knows maybe one day they will start posting and enlighten us with their knowledge lol
