I guess they read this thread and decided to ditch affiliates so they do not get pleasure to ditch them

Following on from Frosties blog post I've now ditched Next from my sites and I won't be applying for their programs elsewhere unless they have a change in attitude which seems unlikely

That's a post I'll back for sure.
It's a dangerous precedent to set if you can be kicked out a program for speaking up about what's wrong with it. I'd encourage anyone who feels the same way to make sure they back the post too.

Absolutely agree.
Merchants reducing themselves to bully boy tactics is distinctly not on.
Good to see that Next's promise of better communication lasted such a long time......

Not only should the agency & decision makers merchant side be raised an eybrow to, but also the network(s) who permit this have to come into question too.

Two of the questions they ask are:
LMAODo you have a blog? Yes No Please give the url
Do you have an A4U log in? Yes No Please give your username

Seriously? That wasn't on my form, but again reiterates my disbelief in that they "want to understand their affiliates better". Biggest pile of doodoo I have ever heard!

Seriously dangerous precedent, explanation demanded.

I'm not expecting an explanation from either Next or iLevel on the handling of the programme and affiliates. It's a case of bury head in sand until it has all blown over. Sadly it is already having a knock on effect so maybe damage limitation should come into play for both merchant and agency!
(A bit of free advice there for Next and iLevel as they clearly need it!)

Interesting that a number of staff from at least one of the networks Next are currently with have actively viewed this thread but no comment from them either - cat got their tongue?
If AW were still the network you can bet they would have posted by now....

Perhaps the Cat has got their tongue for a couple of reasons.
New "American" ownership of one, possible new ownership of the other, restricting comment without going through redrafted corporate responses & posted in some delegated employees name .... as well as the demand from the merchant or agency upon that network.
It lends a little weight to which networks will defend affiliates equally and which networks we should maybe turn our attentions to. I do wonder what the merchants on these networks think?
Is it ... oh we have found a poodle that will do anything we want & sod the affiliate, which has been my experience, or is it hmm I 'd rather deal with a network which was "fairer" all round & more likely to get more business from. Buy.at stopped talking on forums about things controversial things ages ago....Cj stopped years ago but gossip is they are coming back.
If there is in an issue you can fix it by just participating here....we actively now have people on forums checking for stories about us so we can actively respond or sort it out.
