Yep - removed all links/campaigns
Switched all Next traffic to other merchants
Demoted them
Intend to remove links when time allows
Nope - still promoting as usual

Any reason why you didn't pull the links?I've just made my first Next via buy.at sale
And as affiliates we wonder why merchants perhaps have their issues too. Sorry (both of you), but really you can't expect a merchant to be dancing around jumping through hoops to sort out their side of the bargain, when we're saying "hey, cool money for old rope"!it's money for old rope as Frostie puts it
Jason
and that is y some companies will always think affiliates dont matter
lol Doug
sometimes nothing is better than anything .. if that anything would be short term and the something, when it came, due to nothing happening with anything, would be far bigger for the long term and outweight the short term benefit of anyone settling for just anything.
that's it I'm out of tongue twisters![]()

Think about this my friend...
Next were found to be advertising on M&S trademarks. Why? Well maybe because their market research told them that the same type of person who shops at M&S could also be the same type of person who would shop at Next? Different on clothes, but everythings else such as homewares, gifts etc.... When I read about this on Shanes blog, I made a note, and now use my Next page to point to another merchant.
It works!
Question is Ray, who will be next to treat you and other affiliates like this? Eventually you will not be pushing anyone over and about anyone else. Its a vicious circle that once started will be hard to stop. That was the main message of my post!
Agree with Kev.. if its making money for affs, they are not going to pull their links. As Kev says, there are lots of other examples where by the merchant has altered their program and I dont see any threads about them. I wonder if Next were not a big brand, would they have coveted so much attention?
Nope.. is the answer and history shows this.
Wallet always wins, its capitalism and where money is concerned, its pretty ruthless out there. I can only say, the best way to deal with programs that don’t fit our own criteria of what is deemed as good... just don’t promote them, move on.
I would ask what the ideal objective is anyway, is this to get Next to change their ways? Is this to just send a message? Is this to educate or prevent other affiliates from promoting next? I think the fact that Next are aware of this, is enough. Now they have to do some merchant damage limitation. Have they learnt anything? Yeah...I think so.
I do think reducing affiliates commissions to 1% during Next sale was insulting and if I were a network I would rather have quit my job then send out that info to affiliates, but that’s just me and Im aware that probably a lot of affiliates still made money. It does annoy me, but like I said thats just me and I wouldn't have NEXT as a client for all the tea in china.
LASTMINUTE and EXPEDIA - we pulled all our traffic to lastminute and expedia on a point of them wanting to play games
Anyone want a million uniques per month? The reason we started building ASAP.co.uk : Compare and find the best deals on flights - cheapest airfaire worldwide from asap.co.uk sick of them playing with the deals

Anyone care to see if they can outrank NEXT in the serps for their brand name?

and point the traffic to M&S![]()
Doug,
There might be a few up for the challenge.
