  AOL’s Advertising.com division acquires buy.at

I’m pleased to post the news that AOL has today acquired buy.at to complement its online marketing business Advertising.com.

The buy.at affiliate network: Press Release

Firstly there will not be any changes to the staff of buy.at and your current day to day contacts will remain unchanged. This exciting development has been underpinned by the good work everyone at buy.at has done - work that will continue to be performed in the same manner going forward. As co-founder of the business, I have been proud to be part of the journey as we have grown together with the UK affiliate market – including the investment from DFJ Esprit that has allowed us to grow our staff from 25 to nearly 70 today. I am pleased that buy.at will now have a home within a business that will continue to invest and help us grow together with our affiliate and client partners. We will continue to trade under the name buy.at as part of Advertising.com.

For affiliates, we will have the opportunity to provide additional programmes from their merchant base, whilst for merchants we’ll be able to offer the benefits of leveraging the combined resources to continue to offer innovative reach to consumers.

The purchase will permit the combined entity to have an exciting international expansion programme, especially in the US where buy.at has now operated a programme for Ticketmaster for 3 months.

This acquisition reflects the maturity, strength and growth potential of the UK affiliate market. The deal also validates affiliate marketing’s position as a fast growing and increasingly important channel in the UK and we look forward to continuing to drive that growth.

We believe this acquisition represents exciting times in our industry and want to re-affirm to you that buy.at remains absolutely focused on excellent service and all my colleagues and I are all personally looking forward to making that a reality.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any of us directly any one of which will be happy to discuss these exciting developments with you.

With Regards,
Steven Brown
Founder and COO, buy.at

Steven

I know we don't always necessarily see eye to eye on all things but congratulations on your news.

BAM! Now that's what I call a sale! A great start to 2008.

Seriously...Congrats to everyone at Buy.at and Buy.at Leads.

I know you've all worked incredibly hard to grow the business to this point and I've had the pleasure of working with many of you over the years and look forward to continuing to do so.

I also feel glad that the direct debit I never cancelled for my AOL dial-up is going to a good home :-)

Affiliate marketing really is all growns up.

Cheers,

Duncan

That's certainly news, Congratulations to Steven and the team at buy.at and buy.at leads - you guys have worked hard to build the affiliate network as it is known today.

I'd echo the comments from Duncan to say that it's always been a pleasure working with you.

Interesting times ahead - go party!
