I meant the second advert there (Payday Bank - Apply & Spend £750 Today | Same Day Payday Advances | No faxing of documents required one)
who are also bidding on "next" toomay have to refresh a few times but they appear on it
next - Google Search
Clicking it takes you to the HMV homepage, so it's not all bad (and no I didn't click it)

I wonder how long the review takes? After making the appropriate changes, save your ad. This automatically submits your ad back to us for review
Does this mean that there is hope for slapped domains if you make changes and re-submit your ads?
Also, in the area that I am in I see that the "display URL redirect to parent site" affiliate is gone but the "bridge page" remains. Maybe that will be gone soon too?
Maybe there is hope for us affiliates with this QS thing?
I'll get me coat...
Its all just bo**ocks, if it was your display URL and destination URL that was at fault then surely they would just disaprove the ad ? I'd be gobsmacked if you manage to get that campaign active again
They just dont want affiliates full stop, for whatever reason they just dont want is on their engine. Its their engine i suppose so its their choice who they let play on it. I have justhad another campaign hit this morning, one i have had running for some time . I can't run a business like this, got to find new sources of traffic.

Sorry about the double post , finger probs.![]()
Was just wondering though how the Merchants are feeling about all this. Dont recall seeing anything from any of them on here. There must be some merchants out there who are thousands down a week at the moment because of this slap, probably the same merchants who advertise themselves on Google. Have any of them also been 'slapped'

Well, im starting to see what everyone is moaning about.. and rightly so in my opinion.
I don't really do PPC but yesterday I thought I would have a go on a page I have designed about a certain old retro game from a well known 80's software house.
I chose my keywords very carefully, all those keywords were mentioned on the page which also contained 100% original content about that game and the software house.
Nobody else was paying for PPC on those keywords and my page is 100% relevant to what I was trying to promote.
I created my keywords and got a 'great' quality score, got up this morning had 3 clicks and 2 sales totaling $25 commission, but only to find google have reduced those keywords to a quality score of 'poor' and now want 50p a click instead of 5p a click.

Leeky, as a PPC newbie I may be wrong (please correct me if I am wrong) but even if you had paid 50p for those 3 clicks you would still have made £11 profit?
$25 commisssion (approx £12.50)
3 clicks at 50p each (cost £1.50)
ROI = 733%?
Yeah, your correct, but its not a nice feeling paying 50p a click rather than 5p a click, other than that i may have just been lucky with the sales.
Im just a bit confused as to why google thinks the page is 'poor' quality for those keywords chosen???, seems like a scam to get more cash to me.

Hi Lee,
Have you actually put your price up to 50p per click? This is the first step in my own experience, if you agree to raise the CPC to 50p in a couple of hours it will change to £2.50. If you raise it to £2.50 (which I did briefly to see what would happen, praying I wouldn't get any clicks), it then goes up to £5!
Noticed this myself. When starting a campaign I get a great quality score and then a couple of days later I'm 'poor'. I'm not a big PPC expert by any means but I don't understand the logic behind it all.
I wouldn't even try!I don't understand the logic behind it all
From what i`ve seen recently, there is absolutely no logic behind some of the actions taken. It's certainly not based on the quality of the sites, as some really good ones have been slapped, but i`ve seen other sites continue that have 1 page with 4 affiliate links and nothing else left alone.
The lack of logic is the most frustrating thing, as it means there is nothing you can do to stop being slapped.
