I agree with you wholeheartedly John. I've already blogged my feelings on it.
Happy Birthday Frostie!Have a good one![]()

Isn't ignorance bliss. The search agency doesn't seem to know how to monitor brand activity the agency doesn't seem to be keeping tabs on their task & the network doesn't seem to monitoring affiliates properly for their over-ride, unless you one of the ...Thanks for the heads up. I'll inform the search team of this.

Unless someone somewhere eats a belly full of humble pie this is just going to roll on and on.
the standard complaints handling procedure for anyone that values their business is along the lines of :
Step one - listen without interrupting (but not for weeks)
Step two - don’t get defensive
Step three - respond with words such as sorry, glad, sure
Step four - express empathy (in fact anything except apathy is welcome)
Step five - ask questions to ensure you understand the problem (i.e communicate)
Step six - find out what the complainant wants
Step seven - explain what you can do
Step eight - discuss the alternatives and agree on the action
Step nine - take action immediately
Step ten - follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
yet the situation has been handled in a less pragmatic manner, from an affiliate point of view it's seemingly more like :
Step one -Ignore
Step two -Deflect
Step three -Accuse
Step four -Shun
This has been handled like a night club fight.. the bouncers don't care who did what to whom and how to solve it, they just shove it outside and hope it doesn't come back.
may I suggest a rethink, on the current path before turning back is impossible,
Hi,
I have only just caught this post as we have been away from the office.
It appears that the code on affiliates4u blogs limited replies to 5 (good spot Keith) - we are still in beta!
Apologies for the error and the misunderstanding it may have caused. It has now been corrected and all replies are now visible in the thread:

Kind Regards,
Matthew.

Can i just check something; Aren't BLOG contents including what is written, comments permitted, junked etc the sole responsibility of the blog owner? How can anyone outside of the blog 'demand' anything of it?
If I wanna call Mickey Mouse gay on my blog that's my perogative and I dare Disney to tell me to publish their response. Cyber speech is free last time I looked. Got something to say? Start a blog!
Thankyou. Finally. Now I no longer wish to deal with next or iLevel directly. I therefore will bow out of this thread. Goodbye and good luck.
Wrong on so many levelsI agree, but I would always publish comments as I have in the past. It creates good discussion.
Fiona, it's good of you to finally come out and chat to us all. Chris, happy birthday btw.
Now picking up on part of what you said....it would be a very good idea during one of the buy.at events coming up (or a number of them as they're taking place around the country) for you and i-level to be present so we can all over a glass or two have a good chat about the program and where all the upset has arisen and see how it can be alleviated.
That said however, the brand is being obnoxious with the demands contained therein. None of this is your fault, you are just the messenger and have the unhappy task of conveying the thoughts of "Chairman Brand" to the masses.
Protection of brand these days is verging on the paranioa for some companies and I really couldn't give a stuff, there are rival outlets which affiliates can promote. A major brand can come in handy but it's not essential these days. Optimised pages can swiftly be turned to the benefit of another merchant.
As for wanting to know under what name I post on a forum etc and if I have a blog, next people will ask me if I sell clothes (yes I do) rather than just act as an affiliate and cite conflict of interest. Really it is not the business of a merchant to know what I post under or where I post.
Next are still considered small time, they don't even hold the trademark for NeXT (not to be confused with Next) which is owned by Apple and is the reason why they have the .com and Next in the UK just has the .co.uk to play with.NeXT: Information and Much More from Answers.com
Even if the company is worth just over $5 billion the business still has a lot of growing to do NEXT plc: Information and Much More from Answers.com
My question about the program however is something that has not been touched on yet but which certainly should be discussed in open forum.
"NEXT plc sells moderately priced clothing for men, women, and children; housewares; and furniture through about 480 stores primarily in the UK and Ireland. It also franchises nearly 130 stores elsewhere in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and Turkey."
So my question is.......does Next pay commissions for sales outside the UK and in places where franchises operate and where customers in those countries can buy online and use the store collection service (Ireland,Spain ..any others?). There was a similar issue with La Senza in that they only validated UK online sales even though they linked worldwide and customers could collect from franchised stores so affiliates with high overseas traffic were getting nothing for sales generated outside the UK.

Sometimes you have to just stop digging.
It's like a merry go round.Next at no point have made any demands of blog owners. Next have not requested that any of the content be taken down on any blog or on the forum.
Frostie was refused cos of his blog, the questionairre asks about blogs & user forum names. Affiliates are being accused of poluting the space "pertaining" (just for you jason) to comments (these are found of forum & blogs) .. it's still suppressing.
Seriously though it maybe prudent to go back to the drawing board & come back with something more formulated & sincere, bow out with what dignity remains & then agency or network re-enter the space when had a better think about it.
