Well as long as you guys are posting sites here's another one

Next Discount Voucher Codes, Next Promotional Codes & Coupons
Says: "Show Current Discount Codes + Site", then does a popup with no codes

You'll be surprised at how many merchants dont allow vouchers but some sites still have them listed.

Over the last few months I have been making a note of companies that have retrictions on voucher code use on this thread:-

Isn't it just as worse to say codes on your site are exclusive when they're blatently not!!!?||

Personally I don't have a problem with the claims of 'exclusive' when it isn't - exclusive is just a ploy to get people to buy now via your site and can act as a good call to action (and at the end of the day let's be honest that is what we should all be about - we want the visitor to do the action via our site) - to my mind no different to five different tabloid newspapers all claiming to have the same story as an 'exclusive'

And if networks start to get heavy on this they need to get their own house in order too - there are plenty of examples of networks who have claimed a merchant promotion as exclusive when it is available on other networks too.
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

If ignorance is bliss then some of the people I know must be orgasmic.

or is it a ploy to deter other affiliates from using the generally avaliable codes by scaring other affiliates into thinking they're exclusive?

does trade descriptions come into it?

I always try to use codes supplied direct from the merchant / network. I do find though this use of "Exclusive" by codes sites misleading. It is business and we are all in competition, so when I see a code is "exclusive" i sometimes think I got no chance of getting a similar code. Most of the time though I find out it is issued to everyone.

Interesting to hear what customers feel about the discount code experience, As a punter I don't like going through lots of sites to find their codes have expired. I remember to not use them in the future.

So I think these codes sites in the medium term will lose out to code sites which keep they site listing only valid codes.

you and your conspiracy theories! There's exclusives and there's exclusives. Exclusive to the affiliate channel as a whole and exclusives to a particular affiliate. The latter is easy to spot: "exclusive to Getvisible customers". The former, well, technically they're right to claim that. Lest we forget that merchants also apply the same technique - they segment their d/b, create one promotion and email it to the various segments with different copy but in effect offering the exact same offer promoted as "yours and yours only".

Obviously, claiming exclusivity on a code you have stolen from somewhere else where it indeed was exclusive is a no go.

Got to say I've never thought to use it that way - I will put things on our site as Exclusive but as I say purely to act more as a call to action to the punter than to deter other affiliates.

I doubt it to be honest - like I say look at the 'real world' example of newspapers - I've never seen them be brought to book by claiming a story is exclusive when it isn't

we were talking about affiliates using iframes and saying a merchant had a code when they didn't - I think claiming exlusivity to deter other affiliates from using it is highly plausible in that light!
